Katy Perry’s camp rested their case Thursday in the wild trial over a Montecito mansion that the pop star and her partner Orlando Bloom once described as an “emotional purchase” they made while awaiting the birth of their daughter during the Covid lockdown summer of 2020.
The 80-year-old businessman who accepted their offer claimed days later that he was mentally “incapacitated” when he signed the paperwork. He sought to void the deal, citing a combination of cognitive decline linked to Huntington’s disease and the heavy painkillers he was on following a back surgery.

A sprawling, $15 million Montecito estate is at the heart of a bitter lawsuit pitting pop star Katy Perry against Texas multimillionaire Carl Westcott. The mansion has languished, largely vacant for the last two years — just a few doors down from Oprah Winfrey — waiting for a trial now unfolding in a tiny Los Angeles courtroom.
On one side is Perry’s manager, Bernie Gudvi, who represented the Grammy-winning singer and her partner Orlando Bloom in the purchase of the nine-bedroom luxury property from Westcott in July 2020. Gudvi argues Westcott hired a...

Katy Perry will be going to court.
The 38-year-old “Harleys in Hawaii” singer was asked to testify in a non-jury trial regarding the Montecito mansion she purchased with Orlando Bloom in 2020 for $15 million, via People.
According to court documents, the eight-bedroom and 11-bath Santa Barbara area estate was owned by 84-year-old business entrepreneur Carl Westcott, father-in-law of Real Housewives of Dallas star Kameron Westcott.
Keep reading to find out more…
Katy, Orlando and Carl are in the middle of a legal battle over the home, as he claims that he had not been in the right state of mind to sign any binding contracts and wanted to avoid the sale.
Carl was diagnosed with a genetic brain disorder called Huntington’s Disease in 2015 and is now living in a facility for patients battling dementia.
The couple’s business manager Bernie Gudvi‘s attorney, Eric Rowan, previously argued his diagnosis had not impacted his mental capacity.

“The Real Housewives of New York City”‘s Lizzy Savetsky is exiting the series following anti-Semitic attacks she says she’s received online.
Savetsky, who was revealed as one of the brand-new cast members of “Rhony”‘s reboot at last month’s BravoCon, took to Instagram Wednesday to make the announcement.
“I will not be continuing on ‘The Real Housewives of NYC’. As a proud orthodox Jewish woman, I thought participating in this series would be a great chance to represent people like me and share my experience,” the mom and professional matchmaker wrote. “Unfortunately, from the time of my announcement in the cast, I was on the receiving end of a torrent of antisemitic attacks. As this continued, I realized that this path was no longer right for me and my family,” she continued. “I’m looking forward to my next chapter. Stay tuned — and thank you for your support!

There are no plans for The Real Housewives of Dallas to return to Bravo in 2022, leaving the futures of Season 5 stars Dr. Tiffany Moon, Kary Brittingham, Stephanie Hollman, Brandi Redmond, D’Andra Simmons and Kameron Westcott hanging in the balance.
“There are currently no plans to bring The Real Housewives of Dallas back next year, and beyond that, nothing official has been decided,” Bravo told Deadline in a statement Tuesday.
It’s unknown why the reality series is being put on hold, though Season 5 proved to be controversial after an old video of Redmond was unearthed where she mocked Asian Americans. Moon, who was born outside Beijing, was one of the many Aapi actors who called Redmond out. Redmond later apologized.
Moon was also subjected to social media bullying from the family of co-star Westcott, accusing her of being racist. Bravo stood by Mood amid the melee.

The Real Housewives of Dallas are being put out to pasture by Bravo.
The cabler on Tuesday confirmed there are no plans to bring the series back in 2022.
“There are currently no plans to bring ‘The Real Housewives of Dallas’ back next year, and beyond that nothing official has been decided,” a spokesperson explained to Page Six.
While the series is not set to return at Bravo, it could return in another medium, possibly on streaming, like The Real Housewives of Miami, which has been announced as returning several years after its Bravo cancellation.
The fifth season starred Kary Brittingham, Stephanie Hollman, Brandi Redmond, D'Andra Simmons, Kameron Westcott, and Dr. Tiffany Moon, who was a new addition to the cast.
The series launched back in 2016, starring Hollman and Redmond, as well as Cary Deuber, Tiffany Hendra, and LeeAnn Locken.

“The Real Housewives of Dallas” will not film this year, and a new season of the show will not air on Bravo in 2022, the network has confirmed to Variety.
“There are currently no plans to bring ‘The Real Housewives of Dallas’ back next year, and beyond that nothing official has been decided,” a spokesperson at Bravo said Tuesday.
Though Bravo currently has no plans to go back into production on the show, “The Real Housewives of Dallas” has not been officially canceled, because Bravo rarely does that: In the “Real Housewives” universe, only the one-season “Real Housewives of D.C.” was officially canceled. Even “The Real Housewives of Miami,” which ended in 2013 after three seasons, is now being revived eight years later for Peacock, the NBC Universal streaming service.
But the low-rated “Real Housewives of Dallas” had a fraught, sour fifth season, which prompted Bravo to put it aside for now.

Real Housewives of Dallas star Tiffany Moon has a message for her fans. The anesthesiologist, who joined the fifth season of the Bravo franchise and made history as the first Asian American on Rhod, took to Instagram to seemingly address the controversial posts she recently received from her co-star Kameron Westcott's family. "It has been an overwhelming week," Tiffany began her caption on Instagram Stories on Saturday, May 15. Dr. Tiffany Moon, a new addition to Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Dallas” in its recently completed fifth season, had to deal with a lot of difficult things on camera, especially as a working doctor during the Covid-19 pandemic and as an Asian American woman during this year of hate crimes and violence toward the Aapi community.
But this week, Moon faced something unprecedented: She was subjected to racist bullying online by the family of one of her fellow cast members, Kameron Westcott. In tweets, Kameron Westcott’s husband, Court, and her brother-in-law, Chart, attacked Moon on Twitter. Court Westcott, who has since deactivated his Twitter account, decried the concept of “anti-racism,” called it racism, and compared the philosophy to World War II Germany. “I don’t understand how many of your patients would be comfortable with you treating them with your open vile racism,” he wrote in a since deleted tweet.

LeeAnne Locken came into this season of The Real Housewives of Dallas a changed person, working hard in therapy to improve her behavior and form stronger bonds with castmates Brandi Redmond, Stephanie Hollman and Cary Deuber.
Unfortunately for her, the “old LeeAnne” snuck out from time to time. And though that gave season 2 its most memorable moments — including Locken’s infamous “they’re just hands but they work quite well” rant — Redmond, Hollman and Deuber were apparently so frightened by her behavior that they came into Monday’s season 2 reunion claiming they no longer felt safe around the Dallas Housewife.
