Road Trip
- Soundtrack
Road Trip, from the Philadelphia, Pa. area, is a band that plays rock
music with a 60's/70's/80's flair.
Their style is unique, with a blend of melodic ballads along with energetic straight ahead rock and roll... fronted by a powerful and talented female vocalist, Alyx Reinhardt.
Road Trip had been in the making for several years and finally they have hit the ground running! The band "Road Trip" was founded by Dominic Macrone (Guitar & Vocals)and Rob Lombardi (Bass, Keyboards & Vocals). Playing in numerous bands over the years, the two musicians/songwriters wanted to get their own songs out on the Philadelphia music scene and enjoyed moderate success in the late 90's and into the new millennium with the band "Red Sky" with whom they cut their first CD "Game Theory" in 2001. Shortly after the release of "Game Theory" the band Red Sky evolved into Road Trip.
In 2002, after a brief start as a quartet featuring vocalist Kris Ballerini, they were introduced to a dynamic and powerful female singer/songwriter, Alyx Reinhardt who had taken time off from the music scene after returning from Europe where she had been fronting an original rock band. They felt a positive chemistry and decided to give it a go. After several attempts to get all of the Road Trip elements together, it wasn't until late 2004 that Road Trip finally found the chemistry they were looking for in Lead Guitarist Mike Gerstner and Drummer Brian Berlanda. Veterans of the Philly Music Scene playing in both cover bands and original bands; the two have brought the missing elements in attitude, personality and sound that Road Trip was looking for.
All members of Road Trip have played a wide variety of venues that range from the Night Clubs of Wildwood N.J. to venues in Europe.
Along with Red Sky's "Game Theory" album, Road Trip has an EP called "Roads Previously Traveled" (2005) and the album "Driven" released in 2006.
