British actor Emrhys Cooper has set “The Shuroo Process” with Fiona Dourif as his feature directorial debut. Zachary Quinto (“Star Trek”) is on board as exec producer.
Dourif (“When We Rise”) will play Parker Schafer, a successful young New York journalist. Addled with drugs and alcohol, she heads to a four-day retreat in the Catskills and falls under the spell of charismatic self-help teacher Guru Shuroo, played by Donal Brophy. Her journey of self-discovery has seemingly catastrophic consequences.
An ensemble cast includes Tommy Dorfman (“Thirteen Reasons Why”), Rainey Qualley (“Mad Men”), Hakeem Kae-Kazim (“Black Sails”), and Olivia Sui (“Scream Queens”). Cornelia Guest (“Twin Peaks”), Rachel McDowell (“Mamma Mia”), Taylor Bagley (“Wish I Was Here”), and Lynn Mancinelli (“Bad Frank”) will also appear.
Cooper, best known onscreen for a starring role in StyleHaul series “Vanity,” helms from a script he co-wrote with Brophy. The pair are producing under their newly formed shingle,...

Towards the tail end of 2016 I was trawling my Twitter feed for something new and interesting, when I stumbled across what looked like a really intriguing low-budget indie movie that was a cut above a lot of what you find out there. I contacted the director, Anthony, and we kinda hit it off. He sent me a copy of the film, Bad Frank, and asked if I would like to do a review, which I did (Bad Frank review).
I kept in touch with Tony as he hit the festival trail and was always happy to hear how well it was doing. So as you can imagine when I found it was getting a much bigger release in order to have a much bigger audience… Well, I am really happy for Tony and his crew; and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to interview him as Bad Frank prepares to hit VOD next month.

I love it when a movie can come completely out of nowhere and surprise this humble reviewer. Bad Frank is exactly that, a movie that on paper looks and sounds like most other kidnap/revenge thrillers you may have seen over the years. But let me tell you that Bad Frank is Far from some of the copy and paste garbage out there.
I was instantly drawn to this flick after stumbling upon its Twitter page and hey full disclosure I saw Tom Sizemore and Brian O’Halloran and thought ‘Okay, Im in’. Little did I know that I was about to watch a somewhat by the numbers movie that takes all of the numbers and turns them on there head with a great,...

Here's the first look behind the scenes for the feature film, Wingman Inc., directed by L.A. based actor/director Choice Skinner (Brotherly Love), who's a long time devoted reader and commenter on S & A. The film, which was written by Tony Germinario and produced by Vincenzo Productions and Skinner's own production company Darkan Entertainment, calls itself a "smart, risqué and humorous comedy [that] explores love and night life in today’s dating scene". Starring Erin Cahill and Kristopher Turner, the film is about Bobby (Turner) who is an extraordinary but modest Wingman for hire who romances and courts Kristy...
