Andreas Schockenhoff(1957-2014)
1976 Abitur at the Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium in Ludwigsburg. 1976 to 1982 studies of Romance languages, German and history at the Universities of Tübingen and Grenoble, 1982 to 1984 trainee teacher for grammar schools in Ravensburg, 1985 doctorate at the Romance Department of the University of Tübingen.
Employed as a teacher at the Free Catholic High School in the St. Konrad Educational Center in Ravensburg.
Joined the Junge Union in 1973; joined the CDU in 1982, district chairman of the CDU Württemberg-Hohenzollern, member of the state executive committee of the CDU Baden-Württemberg.
Member of the Bundestag since 1990; since 1995 Chairman of the Franco-German Parliamentary Group; since 1998 Chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Foreign Affairs Committee and Deputy Foreign Affairs Spokesman, since November 2005 Deputy Chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group.
