Josh Metzler
Born and raised in Gilbert, AZ, 15-year-old Josh Metzler has aspired to
be a musician since he first joined the school choir in fourth grade.
First learning the piano when he was eight and then picking up the
violin at age ten, Josh has always had something musical going on in
his life. He taught himself to play the guitar when he was 13, and
began posting videos to YouTube not long after. Now, less than two
years later, Josh is one of twelve kids who were cast in the Hub's
reality television show Majors & Minors. Josh has worked hard and
practiced countless hours to get to this point, but could not have done
it without the help and support of his family, friends, and fans. In
March of 2011, he was featured on Michael Buckley's YouTube, which
entertains an audience of over 1.1 million subscribers, via the segment
Buck Factor, a segment devoted to promoting undiscovered artists on
YouTube. Overnight, Josh gained over 6,000 subscribers and by May had
hit 10,000 subscribers. At the end of May, he submitted an audition
video for the Hub's upcoming reality TV show Majors & Minors. Just a
couple weeks later, Josh got a call saying that he would be flown out
to Hollywood for callback auditions. After final cuts were made, he and
his family were informed that Josh was one of twelve kids who were
chosen out of over 40,000 applicants to be the inaugural cast of Majors
& Minors. Through the show, he had the incredible opportunity to work
with some of the biggest names in the business, including Adam Lambert,
Avril Lavigne, Will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks, Brandy, Mike
Posner, Leona Lewis, Ryan Tedder, Colbie Caillat, Sean Kingston, and
world-renowned songwriter Claude Kelley. The kids also were mentored by
some of the industry's most established mentors such as Evan "Kidd"
Bogart (songwriter for such superstars as Rihanna, Leona Lewis, Britney
Spears, Adam Lambert, Pussycat Dolls, Keyshia Cole, Jason Derulo,
Ke$ha, Enrique Iglesias, Sean Kingston, Hot Chelle Rae and Beyonce),
Debra Byrd (vocal coach on American Idol for all 10 seasons), David
"DQ" Quinones (songwriter and vocal producer for Brandy, The Pussycat
Dolls, Beyonce, Enrique Iglesias, Usher, and many more), and Paul
Mirkovich (whose credits as musical director/keyboardist/vocalist
include award winning artists like Pink, Christina Aguilera, Cher,
Janet Jackson, INXS, Anastasia and Whitesnake). The experience has been
the opportunity of a lifetime, and Josh is so grateful he has been
given such an unsurpassed platform that will allow him to share his
music on an even greater level. Be sure to check Josh out on YouTube
