Mumbai, March 11 (Ians) Actor Freddy Daruwala is known to be among the most good-looking villains in Bollywood. Having been part of big commercial projects as Holiday, Force 2, and Commando 2, has only helped him become a popular face. However, he feels the scope for villains in a film story is restricted nowadays.
"I never thought of myself as a villain or a hero. These days there is a very thin line between positive and negative leads, but casting directors don't see your potential to be a positive lead and as a result you get typecast," Freddie tells Ians.
"I would love to play a negative or positive lead. It's just that when you play a positive lead, you get many choices of scripts because the project is building around you and your character. When you play a villain, there are not many scripts that explore the character.

Anil Kapoor is truly the apt definition of age just being a number! One of the fittest actors in the industry today, the veteran actor only seems to getting younger with time. Anil, who is returning to the Race franchise for the 3rd time has performed all the stunts by himself! His last outing as an action hero was the television series, 24 where we saw him perform some high voltage stunts.
Director Remo revealed how the actor took avid interest in every scene and refused to use a body double. Anil Kapoor’s entry scene was slated to be on a smaller scale, however Remo took a last minute call of upping the stakes after consulting with the stunt directors Tom Struthers and Anil Arsu.
“Anil sir refused to use any body double. The dedication that he showed was unparalleled. He even underwent special training in Abu Dhabi”, says Remo Dsouza.

Besides the stellar onscreen presence of Salman Khan and Bobby Dell in Race 3, the actors share a great camaraderie off-screen as well! Bobby has immense praise for Salman Khan who not only offered him the role in Race 3 but also helped him get back into shape!
“Salman is the kindest man I know. I was going through a low phase in my life when he advised me to work out and offered the role to me on the phone”, says Bobby Deol
In fact the duo were almost inseparable on the sets of the film and they fondly referred to each other as ‘Mamu’! Bobby further added, “When I was starting out, I’d practice my stunts and ride horses on the beach. His Maine Pyar Kiya had just released and it was a big hit, yet he behaved so normally. Our favorite Indian commando Karan (Vidyut Jammwal) is back, this time with bigger muscles in a bigger film. But is bigger always better? Where the first part, 2013’s “Commando”, wasn’t a great film, it did offer some fun moments with its action god Jammwal kicking and punching his way to solutions. “Commando 2”, also known as “The Black Money Trail”, shows more of that and is definitely bigger in scale but also a lot dumber than it’s predecessor.
Watch This Title
Just like with part 1, the film contains fun moments and some action blowouts that feed our ever-hungry action junkie soul, but the story is just a big mess. Where the previous instalment had a simple and straightforward story, this film offers a plot full of twists and turns. Unfortunately, it turns it into one of those movies that tries to be smart but looks kind of dumb while doing it.

Commando 2
Starring Vidyut Jamwal, Freddy Daruwala, Adaah Sharma, Esha Gupta
Directed by Deven Bhojani
After a week of drudgery at the theatres when we were coaxed into wading through a self-designed epic slush on war and love, it is such a welcome relief to go to the theatres just to have a unpretentious good time. No offence meant. None taken.
Come, unwind with Vidyut Jamwal as he cracks some serious bones and Fera codes, brings India’s wealth back into the country and saves civilization from catastrophe. All done in the vein of a comic book hero who forgot his cape in transit.
Okay, Jamwal is ambitious, And sorry to say, he can’t act. He can fight like a wild untamed beast, though. His reflexes in the action scenes, specially in the hand-to-hand combat with actor Thakur Anoop Singh at the climax on the rooftop of skyscraper, are to die for.

Commando 2 that promises to be yet another action packed adventure like its prequel has new names added to the star cast. While we have earlier reported that Esha Gupta will be a part of the film, yet another actor signed for the same, is Freddy Daruwala. Soon after the announcement of Commando 2 going on floors, what followed was yet another series of reports about the star cast of the film. Unlike the first instalment, the sequel was said to have two actresses - Adah Sharma and Esha Gupta. However, the role of the latter was kept under wraps. Now it has been revealed that the Jannat 2 actress will be seen in a negative character. In fact, this will be the first time that we will see Esha in a grey role. On the other hand, Freddy Daruwala gained popularity as a villain in the Akshay Kumar starrer Holiday:...

Sometimes it’s a curse when you watch various language films. Especially when the remake season churns out yet another one. You rely so heavily on the writers and the actors to give you something to enjoy and walk away with. Walking into Holiday was like that for this writer, but alas, she didn’t walk away with much. In fact, after watching A.R. Murugadoss take Ghajini from Tamil to Hindi, I was more scared. Scared to expect anything like Ghajini’s history. Well, history did not repeat itself and the magic of re-creation has failed.
The story is pretty simple. Military man Virat played by Akshay comes home for holidays but stumbles into a terrorist game plan. On the side we have Saiba played by Sonakshi Sinha for the funnies and some glamour. But it doesn’t take a long time for people to see where the connecting dots are.

He was the 'villain' himself in 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara' and then went on to be the 'Boss' in the namesake film. However, while being on a 'Holiday', Akshay Kumar is happy to get a brand new villain on board. The man in question is Freddy Daruwala, a popular model and face of many advertisements, who would be beginning his Bollywood journey with the film as an out-and-out-villain. Apparently, the makers (producer Vipul Shah, director A.R. Murugadoss) wanted an ent...
