Marleen Slot will take over from Antoine Simkine in April 2024.
European network Ace Producers has appointed Dutch producer Marleen Slot as its new president, effective from April 19, 2024.
Slot will take over from current president Antoine Simkine, who has held the role since 2018.
Slot will work closely with Ace director Jacobine van der Vloed in developing Ace’s vision and strategy.
A member of Ace Producers since she participated in the Ace 19 programme in 2009, Slot’s involvement with the producers network has included as a speaker, consultant and expert. She is currently serving as vice-president and is a board member for Ace Producers.

A lively panel brought together European film professionals to discuss the hot topic of whether co-productions are seriously threatened in today’s world. An open conversation among producers, financiers and funds was organised at the Mia Market, aiming to find ways to face the current and future challenges of the co-production world. Jacobine van der Vloed, director at Amsterdam-based Ace Producers, hosted and moderated the panel. Tobias Pausinger, head of acquisitions and development at The Match Factory, argued that returning to the way things were would be a slow process, for both sales agents and producers. Fifteen different territories are represented in the selection of professionals attending this four-event workshop. Ace Producers has announced the 18 producers selected to participate in the 30th Ace Session (2020/2021) who will go on to join the Ace Network. The selection committee was made up of members of the Ace board, Ace consultants, president Antoine Simkine and director Jacobine van der Vloed. The selected producers will attend three workshops with a project in development. Fifteen different territories are represented in the selection: Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Palestine, Poland, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
