Britain's Prince Harry will spend Christmas in Afghanistan. The 28-year-old prince won't be able to spend the festive season with the royal family as he will be one of the soldiers on guard at Camp Bastion in the Helmand province. Harry will be on high alert ensuring the camp is safe from attack, as fellow troops enjoy a Christmas dinner of turkey, potatoes, sprouts, gammon and pork pies that have been specially flown to Afghanistan for them. The 5th annual Minneapolis Underground Film Festival is currently raising funds via the website Indiegogo. The fest is set to run at the St. Anthony Main Theater on August 17-19 with loads of great feature films and short films, as well as a special selection of movies made by local talent. Please consider donating!
To date, Muff has been pretty much under the radar, but it’s a solid underground fest with its own unique voice that’s been growing by leaps and bounds every year, especially under the tutelage of Mark Hanson, who took over as Festival Director with the 4th edition. The fest is now better positioned as a summer film festival and has another strong lineup of films such as Marten Persiel’s This Ain’t California, Derek Franson’s Comforting Skin, Michal Koskowski’s Zero Killed and loads outlandish, intriguing and fascinating fare. This 5th edition...

For their 4th annual edition, the Minneapolis Underground Film Festival is preparing for a blowout event on Dec. 2-4 at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design (McAd). And, in order to make sure this year’s fest is extra special than all previous years, they’re raising funds via Kickstarter for promotional material and to host live performances and events. If you want to donate, please do so at Kickstarter.
Muff is really mixing things up this year after having brought on a new Festival Director, Mark Hanson. They have also announced already that there will be prize packages of production rentals worth $500 for filmmakers provided by Cinequipt.
Special guests at the fest include Everything Is Terrible, which will present oddball VHS rarities; plus media artists Maria Juranic and Pixel Farm will screen work and host forums. And there will be a special fest after party with live musical guests!
