Heidi Zimmermann was born and raised in Salzburg, Austria. Throughout
her studies at the University of Vienna, University of Alicante and
Fachhoschule Salzburg, she matured into a camerawoman for TV and Music
Videos. Traveling and working all around the globe opened a new
spectrum for the young director of photography.
In 2013 she received her MFA in Cinematography from the New York Film
Academy in Los Angeles. During her time at NYFA she worked on a variety
of short films, music videos, spec commercial and documentaries and
finally ventured into the fiction world with her Final Thesis Project
"The Buffalo Killer".
Her professional commitment is to fulfill the directors vision in a
creative and compelling way that compliments the needs of the script.
The choice of visual style is key whilst always being strategic and
efficient to complete projects on time, and on budget despite the
adverse conditions of any situation.
Heidi is now an international based cinematographer with a vast
experience in all formats, both film and digital and is capable of
collaborating on a movie set in three languages: German, English and
Spanish.
