Richard Perry was born and raised in Sugar Land, Texas. He began his journey as a football player, but found a stronger calling in Theatre. He began his studies in High School, and that led to him continuing at The University of Houston. During his time at U of H, Richard joined in courses at The Alley Theatre led by two company members, David Rainey and Philip Lehl, both graduates of the Julliard school for acting in New York. Richard furthered his endeavor by becoming involved with small theatre groups in Houston, as well as taking part in "The Edward Albee Student Playwright Festival". Richard was fortunate enough to work with Lanford Wilson himself, who took special interest in the production Richard had been a part of. Richard was then offered a scholarship to attend The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in 2007, and after much discussion with his professors, he chose to attend the Los Angeles campus.
During his time at the Los Angeles campus of AMDA, Richard continued to study film, theatre, acting for camera, stage, and voice acting. Richard fell in love with Stage Combat, and he began to study with members of The Society of American Fight Directors (S.A.F.D.). Richard has continued his studies outside of AMDA with the S.A.F.D., as well as continued in his love of Theatre. Richard joined The Alliance Theatre Company in North Hollywood, CA, as well as several others, learning from individuals who studied in the Yale Masters Program, NYU, Harvard, and others.
After Richard's initial introduction to the world of entertainment, Richard became part of a new striving project to turn an ordinary on-camera acting class into something more. The project, "Falling...", succeeded beyond what Richard had anticipated, winning "Best of Festival" at Indie Fest USA in Old Garden Grove, CA, 2012. Richard credits much of his growth to this film. Richard had played two characters on camera at the same time, as well as other supporting parts in the film. Richard also worked in the co-writing of the piece, as well as composing music in the post-production of the film.
Since then, Richard tested the waters of Talk Radio in "The Three Amigos" live from Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood. The show had a short run, but was filled with outstanding guests such as Gloria Gifford, Chick Venerra, and Ted Lange.
(August 2018) Richard has been training with Mr. Chick Venerra, who was the first guest on "The Three Amigos" show.
