It’s been a big two weeks for CollegeHumor. First, on September 29th, the comedy website premiered Adam Ruins Everything on TruTV. Nine days later, it launched another TV show by bringing viewers the first episode of Middle of the Night Show, a late-night MTV talk show.
The host of Middle of the Night Show is CollegeHumor personality Brian Murphy, though he mostly functions as a master of ceremonies. The real stars of the show are its celebrity guest hosts, who are ambushed in their beds in the middle of the night and asked to host a talk show on the spot. It’s a fun idea, and one that may not wholly original. Leading up to Middle of the Night Show’s premiere, Seth Rogen called it out on Twitter, where he claimed it to be a copy of a previous sketch concept.
