Meire Fernandes is an award-winning producer who was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. She has worked for Sony Pictures Television, launched Crackle in 18 countries in Latin American including Brazil. She started her career in the entertainment industry in 1995 working at Fox Latin America as a Programming Coordinator. She has always been passionate about development, production, and programming. In 2007 she founded the most prestigious Brazilian Film Festival outside of Brazil, the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival - LABRFF and the Brazilian Film Market - BFM. This accomplishment has given her ample experience in identifying creators and finding new opportunities for filmmakers and producers by developing long-term relationships with theatrical distributors, channels and digital players. She has negotiated and managed complex output deals with several players, as well as with sales agents and other distributors. While working for Sony Pictures, she introduced the concept of "Cinema Green" - a project that challenged film students from Brazil to tell personal environmental stories by producing short films for Crackle using only recycled materials during the shooting process.
She is the Head of Development & Executive Producer and has worked with numerous international projects including feature films and TV Series.
Her latest project was the feature film "Single Almost Crazy" which was release in theaters in Brazil in 2020.
In 2017 she produced the Music Video of Aloe Blacc called "Milk & Honey" directed by Kondzilla which has more than 3MM of views on YouTube.
Recently she wrote the book "Lucas Oats and the Secret of 404" which has been adapted by her and now is in development to become a TV series.
