"Star Trek" actor Patrick Stewart is eager to reprise his role as Jean-Luc Picard for writer/director Quentin Tarantino's R-rated "Star Trek" movie, that is headed to the Paramount 'writers room' to be developed for Tarantino to direct:
"...one of my dreams is to work with Tarantino," said Stewart. "I admire his work so much, and to be in a Tarantino film would give me so much satisfaction. So, if he is going to direct something to do with 'Star Tre' and there was the possibility of dear old 'Jean-Luc' showing up again and doing that for Mr Tarantino, I would embrace it."
Tarantino is keen on 'time travel' stories including writer Harlan Ellison's "Star Trek" TV episode "City on the Edge of Forever", as well as the "Star Trek The Next Generation" episode "Yesterday's Enterprise" (1990), considering it to be the best of all the "Star Trek" stories set in the 24th century.

"...in 'Yesterday's Enterprise', the starship 'Enterprise Ncc-1701-d' encounters a rift in spacetime while on a routine mission. As they monitor the anomaly, the heavily damaged 'USS Enterprise-c', a ship believed to have been destroyed more than two decades earlier, emerges.
"Instantly, the 'Enterprise-d' undergoes a sudden, bizarre and radical change from its current timeline: it is now a warship, and the 'United Federation of Planets' is at war with the 'Klingons'.
"'Tasha Yar' – who was killed years before – is now running the tactical station.
"None of the crew notice the change, but 'Guinan' senses reality has shifted and has...
