Ever since Kurt Cobain’s death in 1994, Nirvana fans have hypothesized about the music he would have made had he lived. But other than “You Know You’re Right,” the scabrous, throat-shredding meditation on confusion that Nirvana recorded a few months before his suicide, and a few comments he told confidants about potentially collaborating with R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe or going completely solo, he mainly left behind question marks.

Lilly Singh returned with her NBC late-night show A Little Late for the first time in eight months.
The Canadian comedian filmed the 1:30am show at a house in LA, making it more topical than season one, with interviews done virtually.
Opening with a sketch about how she would be able to cope without making the show in a traditional studio with a live audience, she joked, “That sounds a lot like YouTube and I don’t know if I have enough experience.”
Season one of A Little Late with Lilly Singh, which ran from September 2019 through May 2020, was filmed in advance, meaning that some of the later episodes aired during the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. She addressed not being on the air in nearly a year. “We thought we were so smart, we’d bank this evergreen content, we can air it whenever, it will always make sense.

The diversity of late-night writers rooms is not a new topic of conversation.
For years, these shows have been accused of being too white and too male, and while that still might be the case, there has been improvement across the board both in terms of gender and ethnicity. Progress is being made, slowly, in the right direction.
So, it was nice to see, earlier this week, that the new team behind the scenes at NBC’s A Little Late with Lilly Singh was incredibly inclusive.
Chelsea Davison, taking over from Sean O’Connor, leads a gender-balanced and diverse writing team of Vannessa Jackson, a former writing apprentice on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert; Sabeeh Jameel, who was a researcher on The Opposition with Jordan Klepper; Romen Borsellino, co-creator of Freeform’s Kal Penn Approves This Message; Nimesh Patel, a former writer for Saturday Night Live who was discovered by Chris Rock; Nelu Handa,...

“A Little Late With Lilly Singh” will have a whole new look for Season 2 — and a new writing staff, including Chelsea Davison as head writer. She replaces Sean O’Connor.
Staff writers for Season 2 are Vannessa Jackson, Sabeeh Jameel, Romen Borsellino, Nimesh Patel, Neuli Handa and Natasha Vaynblat. Neil Punsalan is showrunner.
They’re all new — the only carryover writers from Season 1 to Season 2 are Singh and Davison.
The second season of the (very) late-night show will be relocated to “a Los Angeles-based house,” NBC said on Tuesday.
We checked — it’s not Lilly’s home.
“Swapping out a traditional stage for a Los Angeles-based house as the show’s location will give Lilly more space to break the rules and embrace imperfection,” the show’s press release reads.
In addition to sketches, interviews and Singh’s take on current events, Season 2 will also “go behind the scenes,” letting “audiences into...

Roommate comedies in some form have been dominating entertainment basically since Three's Company, but when they work, they work. Sean and Jilly Move In is as simple as it sounds. A couple decides to move into together to save their relationship. And simple it is. So simple in fact, the actors shamelessly wear microphones placed strategically sometimes on their arms to pick up sounds from two actors at once—ah, the joys of love-budge web series making. But somehow it is easily forgivable as Sean O'Connor and Jillian Federman have an easy, engaging, and entertaining demeanor, and you'd rather hear what they have to say, even if they are wearing microphones on their arms.
