Johnny Depp was recently photographed in full prosthetics to play real-life Boston gangster James 'Whitey' Bulger in the upcoming movie Black Mass.
The 50-year-old actor was wearing a balding wig cap, fake teeth, a blue open shirt with a gold chain, and a black leather jacket as he shot the film's final scenes in Lynn, Massachusetts.
Benedict Cumberbatch recently joined the cast as Whitey Bulger's brother Billy Bulger, along with Parks and Recreation's Adam Scott, who is reported to be playing FBI agent Robert Fitzpatrick.
The Scott Cooper-directed crime drama is due for release in cinemas on September 18, 2015.
Bulger spent 16 years at large and 12 years on the FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list before he was arrested in June 2011, aged 81. Prosecutors indicted him for 19 murders and he is currently serving two life terms.

Her dragon-wrangling duties over for another year on Game Of Thrones now that the season four finale has aired, Emilia Clarke has more time to appear in films. She’s currently busy playing Sarah Connor in Terminator: Genesis and has signed on for a psychological thriller called Voice From The Stone.Eric D. Howell is directing the indie thriller, adapted by Andrew Shaw from Silvio Raffo’s novel, originally written in Italian. It’s all set in 1950s Tuscany, and finds Clarke as a nurse who must help a boy deal with the shock and hurt of his mother’s death. Travelling to the family’s castle to help out, she discovers that the place has a much more malevolent spirit hanging about; one that might threaten her life. There is something about getting a kick out of the sleazy celluloid cretins that feels rather intriguing. Whether these movie weasels are unctuous lawyers, abusive spouses or borderline bullies the concept of being a big screen weasel brings to mind some of the most colorful cast of conniving cohorts of misbehaving ever assembled. Okay…maybe that is a stretch as there are countless of other worthy weasels deserving of making a top ten list–probably even better known or notorious than the selection being presented currently.
Nevertheless, let’s check out the weasel-like wonders that movie audiences have learned to love or despise depending on the frame of mind in celebrating these shifty oddballs.

In cinema, real, dangerous women have been a fascinating anomaly – rare invaders of the norm who arrive, surprise, and vanish. As stalwarts of diversity, they wait in the wings until they’re tapped for the next tale, used so often that their names become immortally infamous – like Bonnie Parker, who died eighty years ago today in an ambush alongside partner in crime, Clyde Barrow. If Hollywood was to be believed, history holds only a handful of badass women, but the repetitive nature of historical biographies isn’t a necessity, it’s a matter of habit. Hollywood opts for the familiar rather than mine the deep and plentiful repositories of women in history, save for the rare interludes that have brought women like Domino Harvey, Valerie Solanas, and Mary Surratt to the big screen. But they are a few of many more – tough heroines and villains whose lives are just asking for a film treatment. Here...

Last year, Emile Hirsch and Holliday Grainger starred together in a TV mini-series retelling of the story of Bonnie and Clyde.
Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker were partners in crime as two of history’s most notorious bank robbers and killers, and you can see their story retold as the DVD release approaches. And if that puts you in the mood to explore criminal duos on-screen, here are ten of the best movie partners in crime.
10. Cobb and Arthur (Inception)
With all that’s going on, it’s easy to forget that Inception begins with a criminal partnership, but that’s what it is about. Cobb and Arthur work with a team, but the personnel around them changes according to the job at hand. What’s most interesting, though, about their partnership is what we don’t see, or know.
Whilst they work together, theirs does not seem to be an equal partnership.

Though Bonnie Parker (Holliday Grainger, Jane Eyre) & Clyde Barrow’s (Emile Hirsch, Into the Wild) crime spree is legendary, their story has never been told quite like this. Fuelled by their passion for each other and Bonnie’s obsession with fame, the couple committed increasingly dangerous robberies, leaving a trail of blood – and headlines – behind them. Aided by Clyde’s sixth sense, they stayed one step ahead of the law until their final, fateful showdown. Also starring Academy Award® winners Holly Hunter (Best Actress, 1993, The Piano) and William Hurt (Best Actor, 1985, Kiss of the Spider Woman), Bonnie And Clyde is powerful, gripping entertainment.

Two of the hottest young actors working today, Game of Thrones‘s Emilia Clarke and X-Men star Nicholas Hoult, have just boarded Go Down Together, Michael Sucsy’s take on iconic American bank robbing couple, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow.
The project has a script by Sheldon Turner (Up in the Air) and David Auburn (Proof), who adapted the film from Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde, a non-fiction book by Jeff Guinn. Described as a “revisionist take” on the two young lovers who robbed banks across the Depression-era South in the 1930s, killing at least seven people along the way, Go Down Together has been in the works for several years, but now that two stars are attached, it looks primed to move forward quickly.

Happy 80th birthday, Shirley MacLaine!
The legendary, award-winning actress, who was born April 24, 1934 in Richmond, Va, started out as a dancer and got her big break on Broadway. She made her first film with Alfred Hitchcock, became a Rat Pack regular, flirted briefly with politics but has never stopped acting as she enters her 7th decade in Hollywood.
She started off as a lovably kooky ingenue, but is known today for her cantankerous matriarch roles in "Downton Abbey," "Bernie," "Steel Magnolias," "Guarding Tess," and, of course, her Oscar-winning role as Aurora Greenway in "Terms of Endearment."
Her next gig is a singing and dancing role on "Glee," of course. Happy Birthday to one of the most talented, most colorful character actresses of all time.
1. She was named after Shirley Temple.
2. She's been performing since age 3, when she began doing ballet.
3. As a girl, she pretended she was Rita Hayworth, since...

The end of the road. The scripts that should be studied, dissected, and taught for their quality, their timeliness, and their impact on the film industry as a whole. Some were perfect for their time and place. Some were ahead of their time. Some defined their generation. And one still rules all, forty years after it was written.

In part two of A&E/Lifetime/History's mini-series, Bonnie and Clyde - played by Holliday Grainger and Emile Hirsch - have lost all sense of abiding the law. They are no longer simple bank robbers; now they are packing heat and unafraid to use it. The only thing standing between Bonnie, Clyde, and all that money is William Hurt as the dogged lawman who comes out of retirement to capture 'em. We watched every bloody moment of Bonnie & Clyde's finale to glean lessons from this classic tale of love, crime and scrapbooking. 1. Never miss a chance to wear red lipstick.

Sneak Peek footage and more new images from the Lifetime, A&E and History, two-night simulcast mini-series, glamming-up real-life bank robber/killers, "Bonnie and Clyde", airing December 8 and 9, 2013:
"...the mini-series is based on the true story of 'Clyde Barrow', a part-time robber and full-time moron, who sweeps 'Bonnie Parker', an impressionable, small-town skank off her feet with dreams of 'fame'...
"The two then embarked on one of the most widely-publicized, blood-thirsty bank-robbing sprees in Us history..."
Executive producers of the series are Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the duo who also brought you Seth MacFarlane as the host of the 2013 Oscars telecast.
"What appealed to me and to Neil, was it was really a psychological telling of the story," said Zadan.
"It really reveals to the audience today that 'Bonnie' in a certain odd way, was the first 'reality' star. She was somebody who really wanted to be a celebrity.

While the adventures of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow kept Americans on the edge of their seats in the 1930s, 21st century television viewers weren't quite as captivated by "Bonnie & Clyde." While the first night of the two-part miniseries drew in a healthy 9.8 million total viewers, that number was below History's "Hatfields & McCoys" (13.1 million) and "The Bible" (14.3 million). Still, "Bonnie & Clyde"'s numbers were good enough to make it cable's best miniseries opening in total viewers since 2006's "Broken Trail." Of course, those 9.8 million viewers were spread across sister networks -- Lifetime, A&E and History --...

People still love Bonnie and Clyde! On Sunday night, A&E premiered part one of the docudrama miniseries starring Holliday Grainger and Emile Hirsch as the infamous crime duo Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. Although some fans and critics were outraged that the four-part docudrama (which also aired on the History Channel) was not historically accurate, that didn't stop people from tuning in. Bonnie & Clyde premiered across three different networks (A&E, Lifetime and History) and delivered major ratings: 9.8 million viewers tuned in, and the docudrama also snagged the top spot as the most tweeted about program of the night. The tale of "Bonnie & Clyde's" crime spree is being brought to life once more, this time in a joint effort by three networks. So how did Part 1 fare on Sunday (Dec. 8)?
The four-hour miniseries begins with quite the depressing imagery of Bonnie Parker (Holliday Granger) and Clyde Barrow (Emile Hirsch), their corpses dead and bloodied, being carted through town in their car riddled with bullet holes. We all know where the story is headed, but getting there should be half the fun, right?
Wrong. While the plot itself has potential -- Bonnie and Clyde's infamous crime spree has fascinated the country for the past 80 years -- and the modern re-telling sprinkles feminist ideas into this version's Bonnie, the slow pace and disjointed storytelling leave a lot to be desired. We are supposed to be captivated by Bonnie and Clyde's love at first sight, the overwhelming passion that led...

Before diving into a review of Bonnie & Clyde – which began its two-night premiere Dec. 8 on Lifetime, A&E and the History channel — we think it’s important to get one thing straight: This TV event is, by no means, an attempt to outdo Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway‘s original 1967 film. It’s merely meant to introduce the infamous outlaws’ story to the next generation in a new, exciting way; and in that, HollywoodLife.com believes it succeeds with guns blazing.
‘Bonnie & Clyde’ Review: What We Loved
Our favorite casting choice, Emile Hirsch, is the perfect Clyde Barrow for a 2013 audience. The 28-year-old fuses his trademark boyish charm with the real-life criminal’s ruthlessness, resulting in a fully-realized character, whom new viewers can be more sympathetic to than they probably anticipated.

In the miniseries, Bonnie Parker (Holliday Grainger) takes a more active role than she had in previous portrayals of her and boyfriend Clyde Barrow’s (Emile Hirsch) crime spree. “Our main mantra was if we’re going to do ‘Bonnie & Clyde,’ we’re going to make sure that it’s a Bonnie and Clyde both us and the audience had not seen before,” co-writer John Rice told TheWrap. “We were looking for a spark of something that.

As we head into the holiday season, it’s time to cherish the final weeks before all of our favorite television shows go on their winter hiatuses. As much as it hurts to say goodbye, mid-season finales mark the (second) best — behind actual season finales, of course — time of the year for TV.
So this week is all about catching every possible mid-season finale that you can, and then running to the theater for a little Jennifer Lawrence-Bradley Cooper reunion.
All times listed are Eastern.

Talk about nerve. Hoping to match History Channel's gigantic numbers for its 2012 miniseries Hatfields & McCoys, that cable network's sister station A&E has bankrolled a four-hour tale about the real-life outlaw couple Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. It's not exactly fresh material: In addition to countless history books and documentaries, the bloodthirsty pair's story has previously been told in Arthur Penn's 1967 drama Bonnie and Clyde, one of the most important American films of all time, in terms of its violence, sexuality, and ironic style. A&E hired Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy) to direct the project, and decided to air it simultaneously on A&E, History, and Lifetime, so kudos to them, I guess, for dreaming big. But this miniseries is terrible, as close to a complete waste of time as I've encountered in my two years of writing for this publication. In contrast to Penn's Bonnie and Clyde,...

Since every network and cable channel must attempt at least one "event programming" moment, here comes the triple-channel challenge -- History, Lifetime, A&E -- of remaking Bonnie and Clyde. Wait, what? If the thought of taking on one of the greatest movies ever stopped your heart, then take a breath. This two-day, three-channel, four-hour take on the Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow story isn't an attempt by director Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy) to upstage fellow director Arthur Penn's classic Bonnie and Clyde. That would just be madness, right? Right. Photos: First Look at Lifetime/History/A&E's 'Bonnie and Clyde'

Imagine how thrilled Bonnie Parker would be to learn, nearly 80 years after her iconic demise alongside partner-in-crime Clyde Barrow, that their bloody legend is once again fodder for Hollywood, in a new miniseries premiering simultaneously on three — count 'em, three — cable networks. Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, known much better without their surnames, have become unlikely folk heroes thanks largely to the 1967 Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway film that featured the tagline “They’re young. They’re in love. They kill people.” In that version, and subsequently in the public’s imagination, Bonnie and Clyde pulled off their violent crimes with the zeal of youth, and faced their notorious bullet-riddled deaths with smiles on their faces, the very embodiment of the philosophy of live fast, die young and leave a good-looking corpse. It’s a tall order to think any retelling could overshadow what seems … Continue reading →

A new trailer for Bonnie & Clyde: Dead and Alive (airing on A&E, the History Channel and Lifetime on Dec. 8 and Dec. 9) has been unveiled, and we're more intrigued than ever by the iconic crime saga. The film stars Emile Hirsch and newcomer Holliday Grainger as Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker, two young criminals who cross America as they rob banks and capture the public imagination.
The slick, made-for-tv miniseries may add to the couple's renown, but according to the newly released teaser, the film may also try to dispel some of the myths that surround the famed and feared couple.

"It really reveals to the audience today that 'Bonnie' in a certain odd way, was the first 'reality' star. She was somebody who really wanted to be a celebrity.

Alexa here. Film and embroidery don't seem a natural combination, but, as I've posted before, there are plenty of crafters out there celebrating their film fandom with an embroidery hoop. One in particular, Jennifer Jackson, a.k.a. Lucky Jackson, continues to amaze me with her prolific output. She uses thread like others might sketch with a pencil, stitching celebrities she's crushing on or movie scenes she loves.
Richie's tent
In 2011 and 2012 she did an embroidery each and every day for a year, filling it with many a Bill Murray and Margot Tenenbaum. See a selection, including Bonnie Parker, American Beauty, Kick Ass, Zoolander and more after the jump.

In December, A&E Networks is going to be taking on not just a classic pair of criminals but two major icons of cinema when its take on Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker is broadcast over two nights simultaneously on Lifetime, A&E and History. "Bonnie & Clyde" stars Holliday Grainger ("The Borgias") and Emile Hirsch ("Into the Wild") as the infamous couple, and the four-hour scripted miniseries will air in two parts on December 8th and 9th. The idea that a series can serve the brands of all three networks at once is an odd one, but it is a tale of romance featuring historical figures also well known from the world of film, when they were played by Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty in Arthur Penn's 1967 film. Bruce Beresford ("Tender Mercies," "Driving Miss Daisy") is directing from a script by John Rice and Joe Batteer. Check out the...

Is the world ready for a fresh look at "Bonnie & Clyde"? Well, they better be.
The mini-series event of the season, airing simultaneously across Lifetime, A&E and History, will take viewers back into the story of Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker and their legendary crime spree.
In the just-released first look at the small-screen event, Emile Hisrch and Holliday Grainger bring the criminal couple to life with the support of a cast that includes heavy hitters the likes of Holly Hunter and William Hurt.
The mini-series has a lot to live up to, as comparisons to the 1967 feature film starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway will certainly loom over the premiere, but the trailer looks as though the update could be a bit of fun. Or it could be a total disaster. Part of the fun will be finding out.

It’s like they always say – if you can’t beat ‘em, try anyway and fail miserably. People might not actually say that, but that doesn’t mean the words don’t fit the upcoming Bonnie & Clyde to a T. Starring Emile Hirsch as Clyde Barrow and Holliday Grainger as Bonnie Parker, the newest attempt to surpass Arthur Penn’s 1967 classic is a TV movie that will undoubtedly fall short. Watch the trailer below to find out why. Whoever edited this trailer has an incredibly literal mind, because nearly every line in the accompanying song – “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” – is given some kind of visual representation. “He wore black and I wore white” is accompanied with Clyde in black and Bonnie in white. And so many repetitions of “bang bang” are synced up to gunshots or William Hurt banging his elbow against a closet. Of course, considering that this trailer is composed almost entirely...

In a rather surprising development, Amazon plans to start selling fanfic. Really. The online retailer will let fanfic writers sell their Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars or Vampire Diaries-inspired stories and keep a portion of the sale. All three series are based on books brought to TV by Alloy Entertainment and Amazon says its working to get more properties into the mix. Now, anyone knows if they’ve banned crossovers? It would be fun to see how “A” and Gossip Girl would react to each other.
Andy Roddick will join Fox Sports Live, Fox Sports’ equivalent of SportsCenter, as a co-host.
Why aren’t there more hosting gigs that include moments of shirtlessness?
