You know, it’s funny. Saving Mr. Banks was given the impossibly raised expectations sentence by the time it screened at the London Film Festival a day ago. The critics are mostly positive on it,...

With Sdcc 2013 kicking off soon, Preview Night details and the full schedule for Day 1 have arrived. We have some tough decisions to make as The Walking Dead comics take on "The X-Files" reunion and then the "Dexter," "Hannibal," and "Teen Wolf" panels go head-to-head.
Per usual, the abovementioned choices are just the tip of the iceberg for genre fans with panels running all day and evening on July 18th for paranormal novels, sexy steampunkers, horror gaming, horror novels, horror comics, horror journalists (including our own Heather Wixson!), composers, the ever present and popular zombies, The Goon feature film, and - in the last panel of the night - horror sitcom "Holliston." Check out our picks below, and be sure to visit the official San Diego Comic-Con 2013 website for the full lineup.

Usually the Oscars are the award show that dominates February but video games get a look in via the D.I.C.E awards. There is of course the Spike VGAs in early December but D.I.C.E, which take place on the 7th of February, make sure to get the final word.
D.I.C.E stands for Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain and is one of the leading peer-to-peer awards show in the industry and uses the four terms in its abbreviation to judge it’s winners.
This year, Journey has come out as the clear forerunner with 11 nominations, while The Walking Dead lands in second with it’s 8, Far Cry 3 gathered 7 and Halo 4 collecting 6 nominations.
It seems that Journey and The Walking Dead are going to fight it out again as they have done all awards season, and deservedly so. Those two games really are a cut above the rest.

SuperBot Entertainment announced yesterday that an “early development beta” for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale was started last week, so that the studio could start testing servers for the upcoming fighter. The studio has been happy with the feedback coming out of the small beta and announced that they will expand it over the “coming weeks”, with the ultimate goal being to launch a full-scale public beta this Fall.
In addition to the announcement of the expanded beta for All-Stars Battle Royale, SuperBot confirmed that the current beta did experience an “unexpected and unintended leak” that resulted in several unannounced fighters, stages, and items becoming public knowledge. The studio stressed that even though the leaked content is real, the game is still in development and that the it “does not fully represent the final product”.
