twenty-three years. Cory graduated from Central Lafourche High School
in 1985 and attended Nicholls State University from which he graduated
in 1992 with a Bachelor of Instrumental Music Education degree. During
his time at Nicholls State he accumulated the necessary credit hours to
receive a degree in Theory and Composition; however, the degree program
was discontinued prior to his graduating. He received the award for
outstanding composition student three consecutive years from 1989-91
and was inducted into the University Hall of Fame upon his graduation.
His composition instructors include Dr. Stuart Folse and Ms. Sharon
Leach. Upon receiving his degree he began teaching in the public
schools systems of Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes. In March of 2010
he left a very successful teaching career to help take care of his
sister who was very ill. It was at this time he decided to pursue his
lifelong dream of scoring music for motion picture. In January of 2013,
the opportunity presented itself for Cory to return to the classroom as
Director of Choral Activities at South Terrebonne High School where he
continues to be employed at this time. Cory is a BMI affiliated
composer and a member of the Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL).
