Jay Singh, known professionally as 'J2', is a self taught British Artist, Music Producer and Composer.
Whether it's pop, cinematic, hip hop, rock or anything in between, he brings his stylistic signature sound to
music across all genres. His work has been featured in numerous entertainment properties and campaigns.
J2 has also produced and remixed songs for many reputable artists such as Shakira, LL Cool J, Pussy Cat
Dolls, Jennifer Lopez and Cassie.
Coming from a family of multi-generational artists, he began by working the DJ circuit across Europe, performing alongside world-renowned DJs, such as Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold and David Guetta and won the prestigious Ministry of Sound - DJ Idol Competition in 2002. J2s adrenaline infused remixes and original productions are featured on various compilations for Decadence, Ibiza Classics, Asian Beats and Ministry Of Sound. J2 also produced songs for various UK labels and did many of his own bootleg remixes for mainstream artists such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, Beyoncé and Christina Aguilera, which blew up in the underground clubs in Europe. He also co-wrote and produced an album for the award winning UK Reggae and jungle MC of the year. 'Top Cat.'
In 2008, J2 relocated to USA with his family and that year worked with Grammy nominated Artist Dan Balan 'Crazy Loop' with whom he co-wrote, remixed and produced songs for his album, including his smash single "Chica Bomb", which reached number #1 in various countries. That same year J2 collaborated with the world renowned Dance DJ/Producer, Darude on a single called "Crazy World" featuring Georgia Haege, reaching the European dance charts.
J2 received recognition and established himself in the pop world with his hit single "Dare (La La La)" which he co-wrote and produced for multi platinum Grammy artist Shakira's 10th studio album. A reworked version was released as an official theme song for the 2014 FIFA World Cup titled "La La La (Brazil 2014)." The song was featured on Shakira's - Activia Commercial, which was crowned most shared advertisement of all time.
Since then J2 has entrenched himself in the highly-coveted film and TV trailer market. His sublime emotional intense productions can be heard in many blockbuster movies, trailers, video games, prime time television shows, and advertisements, including "Grey's Anatomy", "The Hunger Games", "Tomorrowland", and "Warcraft."
J2 has created a brand for his unique renditions and epic productions of modern songs called "The Iconic Series." They have landed in a Super Bowl commercial for the NBC Show "Allegiance" to the Oscar winning movie "Django Unchained" with his version of Johnny Cash's "Ain't No Grave." With the success of his placements J2's music has been heard by millions of people across the globe. He has released six collectives of "The Iconic Series" albums that can be found on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon and he is heavily followed on Shazam. Not only has he mastered these rendition albums, but has further released various original trailer albums which have been a huge success in the motion pictures advertising world. J2 is also a voting member of the Recording Academy (Grammy Awards).
When J2 isn't working, he enjoys cooking, spending quality time with his family and giving back to the community by volunteering at the local temples. J2 currently resides in Los Angeles and holds a master's degree in Business Finance.
