Finding out you have an Std probably isn’t the best way to learn that your boyfriend has been cheating on you, as Michelle discovered on Skins this week.
She received that double dose of unfortunate news, and also lost her friend Tea, all while lacking a mother to guide her through the troubles.
I was surprisingly engaged throughout this installment.
The principal gave a rather straightforward speech to Michelle that illustrated her behavior. She’s a smart girl with a lot of potential, but in her desires to please her boyfriend and fit in at school, she’s managed to lessen who she is as a person.
Unfortunately, her mother doesn’t make matters better. More of a roommate than a parent, she spends her time cavorting with a variety of men instead of taking care of her daughter. Perhaps something in her past has made her act in such a manner.

The crazy sex, drugs, and house of kids like Michelle on MTV’s new series Skins pale in comparison to the wild life of actress Rachel Thevenard. She may be a Shakespeare-loving bookworm with an Eminem obsession, but that comes with a gig on the most talked about show on television- not to mention all of those spicy on-screen hookups every week. We address all of the controversy behind Skins before Rachel and Ology kiss and tell.
Ology: So I think it’s safe to say that Skins is kind of a big deal.

Well, it’s been about, oh, two weeks since Skins was the center of controversy, inspiring companies to pull sponsorship due to the show’s over-sexed underage content. Apparently, two weeks is too long. Too long, I tell you! Because today comes news that some of Skins’ cast — including a few of its underage members — have posed for Elle magazine for an “innerwear-as-outerwear” photo shoot. Translation: A lingerie-heavy shoot. (Update: Robbie Myers, Elle’s editor-in-chief, has issued the following comment to EW about the shoot: “Innerwear as outerwear has been a trend for decades, and Joe Zee’s point was...

On MTV’s racy new series Skins, Stanley Lucerne is a shaggy-haired slacker hopelessly in love with his best friend’s girl. In real life, Daniel Flaherty might be lazy and hate going to school, but he’d still make Stan grow a pair. Before his big episode, Ology tracked him down to speak on Skins as his first big acting gig, his dream movie role, and his love for Natalie Portman.
(Psst. Keep clicking back to Ology, we also spent some quality time with Rachel Thevenard, who plays Michelle! Look for our interview with her soon!)

It’s grittier than ‘Gossip Girl,’ dirtier than ‘Degrassi’ and naughtier than ‘90210.’ Prepare to be hooked!
After a long hard day in the real world, sometimes you just need to turn off your brain and fill it with trash. Enter Skins, MTV’s “new” scripted series based on the British show of the same name. It’s the timeless tale of nine Baltimore teens going after the important things in life (sex, drugs, etc.) without any of those extraneous morals or life lessons.
Here’s a quick breakdown of all the new friends you’ll meet in Skins:
Tony Snyder (James Milo Newman), the show’s resident Chuck Bass. Expect him to get lots of undeserved sex. Michelle Richardson (Rachel Thevenard), Tony’s girlfriend at the start of the series… but not for much longer. Stanley Lucerne (Daniel Flaherty), Tony’s best friend. (Remember how I said Tony and Michelle wouldn’t last?...

Yesterday, the Parents Television Council declared MTV's 'Skins' to be "the most dangerous show for teens."
TV Squad caught up with the young actors, who were already well aware of their newfound "dangerous" label. "In a good way we're dangerous -- dangerously in love," joked Ron Mustafaa, who plays Abbud. "We're dangerously sexy," added Danny Flaherty (Stanley).
In all seriousness, though, the teenage cast was very insistent that their hard-partying onscreen alter-egos can provide some real lessons for their peers and parents alike. "It would even be a great conversation opener," Flaherty said.
Besides, the show hasn't even premiered yet. "These parents haven't seen the show as far as I know, they've seen previews," said Rachel Thevenard (Michelle). Indeed, PTC President Tim Winter's complaint took special note of the marketing campaign, saying it "makes light of lying to parents and participating in all manner of harmful,...

MTV, an American cable network, is starting to promote the American remake of the British TV series Skins. The show will premiere on MTV in January 17 at 10/9 Pm central.
Just like the British version, the American version, will document the life of a group of teenagers who try to balance their life in school, in their family and keep their friendship. Moreover, these teenagers like to party, consume drugs and, above all, get drunk.
The leading cast of the show will be Rachel Thevenard, James Newman, Daniel Flaherty, Jesse Carere, Ron Mustafaa, Britne Oldford and Sofia Black D'Elia.
For the moment, it's hard to determine if this Skins actually is the Canadian remake. On the IMDb page of the show, the Canadian company Entertainment One isn't mentioned as one of the production companies. Moreover, The Movie Network, a Canadian premium cable network, is not mentioned as a "distributor". However, an article by Variety,...
