Dan Hall(XIV)
- Composer
Born in Liverpool, Dan spent much of his youth exposed to the film scores of Goldsmith, Horner, Williams, Zimmer and more. By the age of 18, he was working as a corporate Videographer and Video Editor, with a long term aim to work as a writer/director of film. It was during this time he discovered the limitations of music libraries for editors, and began making his own music to accompany his video projects.
Deciding to pursue his long-term interest in film music, he then invested in a modest home studio and within weeks of this was scoring low-budget features for international filmmakers. Dan has no formal musical education, but has utilised his knowledge of both the editing/composing process, self-taught composition skills and natural musicality to delivery digitally produced music quickly and affordably to filmmakers. He now composes alongside maintaining a full-time IT career between London and his home in Hampshire. He still writes, and hopes to publish fiction novels in the time allowed between projects.
