Exclusive: Breaking Glass Pictures has acquired North American rights to writer-director George Bamber’s gay dark comedy.
Based on the book of the same name by Robert Rodi, Kept Boy centres on interior designer and reality show star Fairleigh Knock, who has a habit for keeping beautiful things, like young and attractive Dennis, around his home.
All goes well for Dennis until Fairleigh gives him an ultimatum – get a job or get out.
Kept Boy is Bamber’s second directorial effort, following The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life Of Ethan Green, and stars John Paul Phillips, Thure Riefenstein and Greg Audino.
“I’m excited to put a post-queer take on Robert Rodi’s twisty and hilarious romp”, Bamber said. “I know all audiences will enjoy Kept Boy’s story of love and the secrets of keeping it, and Breaking Glass is the perfect partner to release our story over all media platforms.”

For anyone who felt that Kenneth Branagh’s Thor left Loki far too ambiguous a character, even in spite of Tom Hiddleston’s great performance, Marvel Knights has committed Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers to DVD as an animated comic. Few Thor or Marvel plotlines have given Loki as much depth or raison d’etre as Blood Brothers did, and many consider it the bible that should be used when creating new incarnations of Loki. It’s a fair assessment of the material as it takes him from the sniveling puppet master caricature writers so often see him as and turns him into a fleshed out and tortured soul confronted with the liquidity of his own wants and desires in the face of finally achieving his ultimate goal: the conquering of Asgard. Nothing so exposes subconscious insecurities as getting exactly what you wanted only to find yourself dissatisfied with the outcome,...

From the beginning in Journey into Mystery, Thor’s arch enemy has been his foster brother Loki, which Stan Lee lifted directly from the Norse myths. Loki, god of mischief, was an infant when Odin slew his father and took the child to raise as his own. Much of the Norse mythology tells stories of Loki’s schemes and trickery among the gods of Asgard, a rivalry with Thor clear. Stan, Larry Leiber, and Jack Kirby didn’t real mine the sibling relationship in those early years; it had to fall to other writers who added sophisticated psychological thinking to the relationships of gods.
One such rumination of that relationship was Robert Rodi’s 2004 Loki miniseries. Released under the Marvel Knights imprint, it echoed the core Marvel Universe’s interpretation of the characters but offered up entirely fresh takes on the characterizations and look of the deities. Painter Esad Ribic...

It seems odd that Thor, of all of Marvel's properties, is getting as much attention as it is. Not just the Kenneth Brannagh-directed film, but also a couple of other ways. Thor is getting a full-court press from Marvel in the days leading up to May 6th, the release date for the feature-length film that will serve as another entry into the pre-Avengers series of hero stories. I figured in the interest of brevity, we'd combine previews of all of the different entries into one place.
First of all, Marvel is also gearing up to release Thor: Tales Of Asgard, an anime-inspired animated film that tells of the early adventures of Thor and his adopted brother Loki. "Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers" debuts in various digital formats today, bringing Robert Rodi and Esad Ribic's epic 2004 miniseries "Loki" to life as a four-episode animated series in motion-comic style.
Over at USA Today, they've posted a short clip from the series, as well as an interview with "Thor & Loki" producer Ruwan Jayatilleke.
The original "Loki" miniseries unfolded in an Asgard ruled by the trickster god after he defeated his father Odin and stepbrother Thor. The critically acclaimed story presented what many view as one of the most complicated portraits of Thor's well-known nemesis.
"You get a very in-depth look at why he feels he is the way he is, and maybe people's perception of him being evil is more of him being a misunderstood character," said Jayatilleke. "As opposed to Loki spending the whole book soliloquizing how wronged he was and so forth, you become sympathetic and empathetic to him.

Marvel has released the trailer for a new animated four-episode series called Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers, from Marvel Knights Animation.
The series was inspired by the graphic novel from Robert Rodi and Esad Ribic, and it takes a powerful look inside the minds of Thor & Loki, brothers in the mythical land of Asgard and seemingly forever enemies. But just why does Loki hate his brother Thor? And could it be that this master of mischief isn’t really the villain he’s been branded? Loki's insatiable lust for power and his feud with Thor take on new meaning in this resonant epic.
The series will debut on Monday, March 28th on iTunes, X-Box Live, and PlayStation Network. Further episodes will debut weekly on Wednesdays beginning April 6th, with each high-definition episode priced at $2.99 (standard definition is also available at $1.99/episode).
The animation style of this series is pretty interesting and cool.

With the live-action "Thor" movie hitting theaters in just a few months, it's no surprise that Marvel is offering up all sorts of new projects lately that are themed around the hammer-wielding god of thunder.
The latest is "Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers," an animated series based on Robert Rodi and Esad Ribic's epic 2004 four-issue comic book series "Loki." The story will explore the relationship between Thor and his villainous half-brother — and why Loki's diabolical machinations might not be as rooted in evil as they often appear to be.
The animated series appears to feature a more motion-comic style of animation for Ribic's original art (which is absolutely beautiful — so that's a good thing). You can read the full press release below to find out more about the series.
