WWE star Ryback brought his 11-year career with the pro wrestling organization to an end Friday, announcing in an Instagram video that he would be returning to the independent circuit after he and the company mutually parted ways. “From this point forward, myself and the WWE will no longer be conducting business together,” he said. “I would like to personally say thank you to all the WWE performers whom I’ve had the pleasure of being in the ring with.” Ryback, whose real name is Ryan Reeves, signed a developmental contract with WWE in 2005 after an impressive performance as a contestant.

Ryan Reeves would first make his mark in the WWE on the first season of Nxt (back when it was a competition show for a contract on the main roster where the superstars would be paired with a pro to mentor them). In 2010, Ryan Reeves was Skip Sheffield, who was the powerhouse of The Nexus stable, which had a promising future in WWE. In 2012, Reeves was given the name Ryback, and he quickly became one of the most heavily-pushed wrestlers on the WWE roster. He would squash smaller opponents, take on two or three opponents at once, and demolished everyone who got in his way.
This stemmed from an earlier rumor from 2010 or so, when it was believed that Vince McMahon saw something in Mr. Reeves. Vince believed that he could be WWE’s #2 man, as an unstoppable monster; essentially WWE’s answer to Goldberg (more on him later)
Fast forward two years later, where is our friend Ryback? Currently sidelined following a hernia surgery. But before that happened, Mr. Reeves was jobbing to other tag teams alongside Curtis Axel. How did this happen? How can one that was once...

Noel Clarke directs and stars in this high-kicking sci-fi about an amnesiac former soldier who blips into consciousness for short periods of time, before passing out and reawakening weeks later in new and increasingly bizarre situations. Finding himself existing as a unit of consciousness which emerges for only 9 minutes per fortnight, Ryan Reeves has to piece together clues he finds during each waking state, and in doing so discovers that whoever he is when he is not himself, may not be a very nice guy.
