Mads Mikkelsen (Rogue One, Hannibal, Doctor Strange, Casino Royale) is set to star in a feature film adaptation of the Dark Horse graphic novel Polar: Came With the Cold by Victor Santos. The film is an action-thriller that will simply be called Polar and it's set in the dark underworld of political assassins. Mikkelsen will play one of these assassins and it sounds like a freakin' great role for him to take on!
Mikkelsen will play the world’s top assassin Duncan Vizla, A.K.A the Black Kaiser who is retiring when his former employer marks him as a liability to the firm. Against his will, he soon finds himself being hunted by an army of younger, faster, ruthless killers who will stop at nothing to have him silenced. Having no choice but to return to the shadowy life he thought he’d left behind, he must use...

Mads Mikkelsen has been cast in Polar, a feature film adaptation of the Dark Horse graphic novel Polar: Came With The Cold by Victor Santos.
According to Variety, Polar will be directed by Jonas Åkerlund, with Jayson Rothwell writing the adaption set in the gritty underworld of political assassins.
In the film, Mikkelsen plays Duncan Vizla, aka the Black Kaiser, aka the world's top assassin. When the Black Kaiser's planned retirement is considered a liability to the firm, he finds himself pitted against the group of younger, faster killers trying to put him down. This all sounds like aging James Bond, which is a perfect fit for an actor who once played Bond villain Le Chiffre in Casino Royale.

Constantin Film and Dark Horse Entertainment have pacted on noir spy revenge tale Polar, adapted from the celebrated Dark Horse Comics graphic novel Polar: Came From The Cold by Victor Santos. The action-thriller follows a master assassin named Black Kaiser who’s forced out of retirement by an assassination attempt by a crew of younger hitmen. Constantin sprung for a script by Jayson Rothwell (Malice In Wonderland, Silent Night) and with Dark Horse are now eyeing directors for a spring 2015 shoot.
The stylized Polar originated as a free “silent” web comic before Dark Horse published it as a graphic novel in 2013, adding dialogue. Constantin’s Robert Kulzer will produce with Jeremy Bolt (Resident Evil) and Dark Horse Entertainment’s Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg. Rothwell is repped by Wme.

Constantin Film has preemptively picked up Polar: Came From the Cold, Dark Horse Entertainment’s spy thriller graphic novel by Victor Santos. Jayson Rothwell wrote the script for the project, which Constantin’s Robert Kulzer will produce with Jeremy Bolt (the Resident Evil movies) and Dark Horse’s Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg. Dark Horse brought the book to Rothwell with the idea that he adapt it, but first the company would go out and pitch it. He suggested instead that he write it on spec, saying it would be much more efficient and faster. Told in a stark, stylized manner, the graphic

Neverminds
Publisher: Drumfish Productions
Writer: Rich Bernatovech
Artist: Jamie Fay

Neverminds is the first in a series focusing on an all-female superhero team. The team is introduced as they begin a rescue mission. Their covert op is interrupted by a mysterious and powerful villain who has been lying in wait. The stranger fights the team to a stand-still before fleeing into the night, allowing the ladies to finish their mission. The story is well plotted, including a nice twist ending, which makes up for the overall lackluster dialogue. Jamie Fay shows his stuff as an artist, though. The colors are vibrant, the characters are distinct and well drawn, and the book has an overall professional feel to it.

Black Market #1
Written by Frank J. Barbiere
Art by Victor Santos
Published by Boom! Studios
Black Market is a comic book with an interesting premise. Superhuman DNA is extremely valuable, and a few people are making a living by stealing it right out of the superheroes. The artwork has a charming retro feel to it, along with the design of the superheroes, and the book’s first issue promises a good story in subsequent installments.
The comic jumps back and forth over a several month period. In this world, superheroes have been around for close to ten years, and their abilities have allowed them to effectively eradicate crime. Raymond Willis is a former medical examiner for the NYPD now forced to work as a mortician. This career change has hurt his ability to care for his sick wife, Shannon. His brother Denny, who was implied to have him cost him his job,...
