Forget the elaborate promposals and stretch limo rentals — everyone knows that prom is really about picking out the dress. Whether you spring for something a little grungier (your author personally wanted to wear a leather jacket over a leather gown), or wear a sweeping, romantic ballgown straight out of Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” music video, we’re pretty confident that everyone wants to be at their fashion-forward best on prom night.

It's wedding season, baby! The historic 20th season of Say Yes To The Dress, premiering July 9 on TLC, promises more tears, more fights and, duh, more bridezillas at Kleinfeld Bridal in this E! Magic, dreams and plenty of opinionated brides and their family members. "I'm going to be a bit challenging," one prospective bride-to-be says, while another complains, "All these dresses and I can't find one?" The brides aren't the only ones feeling a little...

"Some brides have been dreaming of their wedding since they could walk. Planning their wedding, and then suddenly having it ripped down from under you—this big celebration and your future just being put on hold—it was so traumatic for some of these brides and couples." Nothing conjures up tears quite like weddings.
In an exclusive clip from Saturday’s season finale of “Say Yes to the Dress: America,” a roomful of 50 blushing brides descends into hysterics hours before saying the big “I do.”
The brides are crying because their hair and makeup aren’t exactly as they pictured in their wildest childhood dreams. Though, to be fair, there are dozens and dozens of brides and only so many hair and makeup artists.
In the clip, which you can watch above, designer Hayley Paige takes matters into her own hands. She comforts New York bride LoAles Cruz, who now deeply regrets cutting her hair short before her wedding day because it doesn’t fit into a bun.

The fashion director of TLC’s hit show Say Yes to the Dress extended an olive branch to a conservative radio host after she blamed his wedding dress show for painting a biased portrait of homosexuality.
The American Family Association’s Sandy Rios said in a recent radio address that children have “heard nothing but positive things about homosexuality and its effects” because of shows like Say Yes to the Dress, which features gay fashion director Randy Fenoli, and Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta, which stars gay image consultant Monte Durham.

Friday is "Bride Day" on TLC, and the centerpiece of that is "Say Yes to the Dress," a show in which a bride has already said "yes" to a proposal and now just needs to complete one tiny detail in the wedding picture.
Whether it's at Bridals by Lori in Atlanta., or at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York, the show follows consultants as they scour the racks for the perfect dress that flatters a woman's figure and satisfies her soul.
On Friday, Dec. 28, "Say Yes" starts its ninth season, back at Kleinfeld. Making an appearance is Joan Rivers, who lends her fashion experience to help a friend's daughter pick a dress.
That task usually falls to Randy Fenoli. For several years, he was fashion director at Kleinfeld, a job he sought after Hurricane Katrina put a serious dent in his ability to make a living in New Orleans.

If you've ever watched TLC's "Say Yes To The Dress," you know that Randy Fenoli, the lithe, ever-charming fashion director of Manhattan's Kleinfeld Bridal salon and the show's unofficial star, is many things to many brides, from fashion expert to therapist to family mediator. But just don't call him a dress salesman.
"I don't sell dresses. I dress brides," he told Huffington Post Weddings during a recent stop at the Brides magazine White Hot Hope Pop Up Style Shop in New York's SoHo neighborhood.
Fenoli was at the airy loft space -- a temporary showcase for local wedding vendors of all stripes (florists! dress designers! registries!) curated by the editors of "Brides" magazine with proceeds going to the charities Operation Smile and Dress for Success -- to sign copies of his new book, "It's All About the Dress: Savvy Secrets, Priceless Advice, and Inspiring Stories to Help you Find 'The One.
