Bill Ferber has been producing and directing films since graduating as a drama major at Whittier College. His first project was Sleeping Beauty (1971) presented as a special on KCET in 1973 hosted by L.A. Times critic Charles Champlin. Since then he has written and directed Allegory One, a short film, distributed by Churchill Films (1974); Saturday Night Racers, a documentary (1979); Dancing at the Desert Moon (1996); and Poet Under the Influence (2009).
His plays and screenplays include Once Upon a Kingdom (1974); Nemesis (1980); Bone Squad (1988); Love or Thereabouts (1997); The Ride of Your Life (2003); Eventide (2012) produced at the Secret Rose Theater; and Traveling by Starlite (2017).
