- McKenzie Clair Brodnick was born and raised in Kensington, MD. She attended the College of Charleston in South Carolina, where she majored in communications and media studies.
Although she has much to show for her young years, McKenzie considers her greatest accomplishment to date founding "Pennies for Preemies," a financial charity that aids families with premature infants at Georgetown University Hospital. McKenzie's own life began at Georgetown where she spent her first two weeks of life, struggling to survive as a critically ill premature baby. At age 15, McKenzie used a small inheritance left to her by her grandmother to start "Pennies for Preemies" as a means of giving back to the hospital and the program has been thriving ever since.
