In the mood for a zombie-esque story with a unique twist? Saddle up for a new Crossed series. According to announcements at New York Comic Con, Garth Ennis’s crazies are coming soon to a computer near you. No, not only in the form of a web comic (Simon Spurrier and Javier Barreno have been bringing us “Wish You Were Here” for nearly a year now), but in actual live action episodes–to be directed by creator Garth Ennis himself.
If you’re not yet familiar with the terror that is the Crossed comic book series, let’s just say that it has a lot in common with Night Of The Living Dead, except instead of being dead, the infected hordes are crazed psychopaths wielding weapons and various body parts. It’s pretty intense stuff, and not for anyone easily disturbed by violence. How will it play out with real actors and makeup effects?...

Garth Ennis has been a highly respected comics writer for well over 20 years now, creating some of the most badass storylines for several of the best modern genre-related comic series including Preacher, The Punisher, The Boys and Hellblazer.
Now the acclaimed storyteller is taking his career in a brand-new direction: writing and directing, and Ennis celebrated the world premiere of his short film Stitched during the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con Independent Film Festival last week.
During the convention Dread Central had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Ennis about his directorial debut Stitched and how he plans to balance out his directing career alongside his career in the comic world (which he has no plans for leaving behind any time soon despite his jump into filmmaking).
Check out our video interview with Ennis below, and look for more on Stitched very soon!
