Ed's composition career began in the theatre. Writing, arranging and directing music. Combining his love of storytelling with training from the Royal College of Music, and experience as an orchestral conductor, Ed became a trusted collaborator of the UK's top film composers. He has orchestrated and conducted the scores to major motion pictures and high-end television dramas, including collaborations with Martin Phipps (The Crown), Rachel Portman (Julia), Daniel Pemberton (Enola Holmes, Trial of the Chicago Seven), provided musical arrangements for Bridgerton (Netflix) and for Decca's 'Bond 25' album recorded at Abbey Road with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Now emerging as an exciting new voice as a composer, he recently scored sci-fi feature Beyond Existence (dir. Schuman Hoque), The Railway Children Return (dir. Morgan Matthews), Venice Film Festival nominated Kingdom Come (dir. Sean Dunn), and factual series for the BBC, Amazon and Netflix. Ed's music is cinematic, emotional, dramatic and multi-coloured, combining the orchestra with contemporary electronic soundscapes, driving beats, and influences from world music and jazz.
