Tuesday at the Los Angeles Film Festival, JuntoBox Films, a collaborative film studio chaired by Forest Whitaker, announced the greenlight of the company's fifth feature film: "The Driver." Whitaker was recently named one of Indiewire's Influencers for his founding of JuntoBox and Significant Productions. Alex Ardenti is attached to direct. Penned by George Richards, the film centers on a down-on-his-luck boxer who agrees to be the driver for a heist. Things go wrong, and he's left with a dead partner and a bag full of cash. The boxer unwisely decides to keep half of the take for himself, but is found out by his employer, who gives him the ultimatum: Kill or be killed. The concept behind JuntoBox is for fans and filmmakers to connect and create films, merging the collobaration of a social platform with traditional in-house film production. It will be selecting its next slate of films from...

Screenwriter George Richards wrote Case Sensitive as “an American thriller with American actors for an American audience.” Director Gil Kofman (The Memory Thief) brought the script to producer Seth Scher, who had connections to a Chinese investor who was making films for the Chinese market. The film was greenlit and Kofman, who does not speak Chinese, traveled to Xiamen, China, to direct his second narrative feature. Soon afterward his friend, documentary filmmaker Tanner King Barklow, joined him and began documenting Kofman’s travails as he tried to navigate a colossal language barrier, bureaucracy, corruption, and cultural differences. Early in the documentary …...

Director: Antonio Negret.
Writer: George Richards.
After Dark Films went into production on several horror films, which have mostly released in late 2010 and early 2011. Seconds Apart is one of the latest After Dark Originals to be released and this horror film moved to DVD May 24th. This is one of director Antonio Negret's first features and from early in the film, one knows this film is going to be a tragedy. If the mention of Aristotle's Poetics does not tip you off, then the screaming victims will. There is so much to cover in this excellent film, but focusing on the twins, their abilities and their desire to feel fear seems an appropriate start.
The film begins with Seth (Gary Entin) and Jonah (Edumund Entin) attending a party, which later leads to a brutal game of Russian Roullette. Few survive this dangerous game and later,...

With its DVD, digital download and On Demand release date of May 24th rapidly approaching, we nailed down an exclusive clip from what is quite possibly the best of this year's After Dark Originals crop, Seconds Apart, for you. We're good like that.
Seconds Apart: Written by George Richards (Black, White and Blues), directed by Antonio Negret (the upcoming Transit), and starring Orlando Jones (Magnolia), Seconds Apart pits brother against brother. Seth (Gary Entin, Rest Stop) and Jonah (Edmund Entin, Rest Stop) are twins who share an evil kinship and a gruesome talent for telekinesis. The duo uses their power in the most horrific of ways against their high school classmates, until local law enforcement begins to suspect their connection to the murders. A jealous rage escalates and quickly turns into a supernatural display of power and a family about to meet its end.

When After Dark films changed things up last year and went from "8 Films to die for " to their new "8 Originals" it definitely made a wise decision. To me the titles I've seen so far from the "8 Originals" have been a step in the right direction. Which brings me to the DVD release of Seconds Apart.
Seconds Apart is a story about twin brothers (Seth Trimbleand Jonah Trimble) with deadly telekinetic powers. The two are close and always together and up to something until one of the brothers meet the new girl at school, Eve (Samantha Droke), it's always about a girl aint it. Anyway as the two grow close and the other twin watches the brothers slowly grow apart. All along as this goes on Detective Lampkin (Orlando Jones) is hard on their trail as he investigates the latest horrific murder all while mourning the death of his wife who...

Orlando Jones, Edmund Entin, Gary Entin and Samantha Droke star in a film directed by Antonio Negret and written by George Richards of "Seconds Apart".

Damned from the moment of their births, the brothers possess a gruesome talent for telekinesis - a power they use in the most horrific ways imaginable. As fellow students meet gory fates, local law enforcement begins to suspect the twins' connection to the depraved murders. What started as a jealous rage escalates into a supernatural showdown - pitting brother against brother, evil against evil.
Seconds Apart is part of the After Dark Originals lineup that is currently playing in theaters. After Dark Films commissioned eight wholly original horror films that were...

After Dark Films has announced support for director Antonio Negret's ("Towards Darkness") film, Seconds Apart. This is murder mystery styled film, where two quiet twins seem to be behind their peers' misfortunate ends. This film, along with all the After Dark Originals, will be released January, 2011. The release will be co-partnered by Lionsgate Exclusive.
Also newsworthy is the first still from Seconds Apart, seen left. The picture shows a devilish, blood stained hand reaching for a passerby. However, this is no handshake, but something more sinister. More details on this latest acquisition are below.

The actual convention floor of Comic-Con International has become famous — and notorious — for the massive, bombastic booths of Hollywood entertainment companies promoting their upcoming product. Especially these days with ever-increasing-in-size flat-screen TVs and more sophisticated and apparently increasingly bass-heavy audio equipment, walking the floor it’s impossible to not be assaulted by 50 movie trailers, full-length TV shows and other promotional videos playing all at once.
However, at the 2010 Comic-Con, my favorite spot on the convention floor — one I returned to two or three times — was the somewhat unassuming booth for After Dark Films, which hosts the annual, one-week-only, national horror movie film festival called Horrorfest. In addition to an open-air portion of the booth that included promotional giveaways and costumed horror characters, there was a separate room one could walk into to watch trailers for their 2011 films.
Those are snapshots I took of the room above and below, although the...
