Teresa Sala(I)
- Director
- Writer
- Editor
Teresa Sala works between Milan and Bologna as a freelance director and filmmaker.
She mainly deals with documentaries and institutional videos, but in her career has explored different forms, contents and duration: commercials, short films, video-dance, video-performance and docu-fiction. She alternates commissioned work with personal projects, dealing, in both cases, with the authorial part and the editing. Always interested in the mixture of different languages and media, she tries to combine figurative art, dance and performing art with audiovisual work. Her films have been presented in numerous international festivals. She collaborates with several production companies, public bodies and private organizations.
In 2013, together with the anthropologist and video-maker Rita Maralla, she gave rise to Marsala a project of cross-media artistic research on the relationship between body, space and identity.
In 2017 she made This is not love, a medium-length film on the emotional and sexual life of Barbara Apuzzo, affected by artogriposis. The film benefited from Mibact funding and was premiered at FilmmakerFest 2017
In 2018 she was selected at the Biennale College, Venice Biennale' development program, with a documentary project about gender identity.
She works as a programmer for Some Prefer Cake, the Bologna Lesbian Film Festival.
