As a child, Marissa showed her underlying and undiscovered love for acting, directing/producing, photography, and singing by putting on unique and entertaining live performances and producing creative videos to show her friends and family.
As Marissa grew older and reached her teen years she was ushered into a variety of acting schools and workshops at the prompting of her father, a Beverly Hills entertainment lawyer, and also an actor and a singer/recording artist himself. Marissa's love for acting and singing was still, at this point, unknown to her.
By 2008, Marissa Macias officially embarked on her entertainment career as a singer, performer, and recording artist. In addition to her work in film, she records original music and performs at live events. Her voice is powerful and lusty; she has strong stage presence. Her first CD single was titled "El Ritmo de mi Vida" or "The Rhythm of my Life" - a song that can be sung interchangeably between English and Spanish. Marissa's original music all has this quality, that the songs are prepared to be sung in either language depending on the audience she is singing to. Marissa continues to produce new music and perform for live events.
Marissa Macias is a MS graduate (Masters in Counseling Psychology) from the well regarded Westminster College (Utah) and a BS graduate (Bachelors in Psychology) from Brigham Young University (Utah); she is a licensed associate professional counselor and has worked in a variety of clinical mental health settings, as well as University teaching settings.
