Australian indie feature Me and My Mates vs the Zombie Apocalypse has opened theatrically across the country using a combination of the Tugg screening-on-demand platform and Monster Fest.s fright night screenings.
The film has opened in six states to largely sell-out crowds and has secured the second largest Tugg screening in Australia.
The film has used social media to gather its support using a tiny fraction of the usual marketing spend..
Beginning with a record breaking indiegogo campaign the filmmakers went on to cast Alex Williamson in the main role..
Williamson is an online comedian with a social media reach in the millions as .The Loosest Aussie Bloke Ever...
Jim Jefferies, who found fame in the Us with his TV show, Legit, co-stars in the film. Australian comedian, Greg Fleet is the third lead. It is hoped he will attract an older audience.

As a Saturday Night Live fan, Australian writer-director Daley Pearson had a bright idea for a multi-platform comedy series with a fast turnaround, in which audiences participate.
Screen Australia, Screen Nsw and Screen Queensland funded the development of the project and the ABC commissioned a series. The result is 7 Days Later, which will premiere on ABC 2 at 9 pm on October 22 and on social media sites.
The concept seems a recipe for chaos. Seven days before the show goes to air, the producers will announce a key word via YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and 2Jjj.
Audiences are then invited to contribute storylines and characters, which Pearson and co-creator Nick Boshier will develop into a script which will be performed by a cast of YouTube identities, with a fair bit of improvisation.

Zenith Comics. With a bit of luck, comic book fans will come to know that name. Zenith Comics and the Zenith Comics Universe are the creations of Andrew Collas – a man who is passionate about comic books, gaming, and anything that has the ability to convey a great story. When I first met him a few years ago, I was introduced to his vision of what became the Zenith Comics Universe. This was done through various sessions in a pen-and-paper role-playing game and Andrew is a storyteller at heart.
The story he was crafting was a compelling one. When Andrew Collas founded Zenith Comics, their initial publishing forays began with gaming supplements for Bash, Villains & Vigilantes, and the Icons role-playing games in 2011. Their portfolio grew in 2012 when they acquired the Supers! Comic Book Role-Playing Game and, with Hazard Studios as a partner, more gaming material is on the horizon. That said,...

It's turning into a strange summer here in the UK. Snow in May; crazy spells of intense heat and a month's worth of rain in just one day (today, July 6th 2012). Damn nature...you crazy!
But I digress. Here for you are this fortnights smattering of Youtube gold, lovingly sourced from the infinitely large mine that is the Internet. Did you know that every day eight years worth of footage is uploaded to Youtube? Insane.
But I digress, again. I have a Lamborghini fail, awkward celebrities, silly policemen, hilarious teachers and a kid living his dream….I think that’s enough for you!
5. Lamborghini Show Off
This clip is one of the most perfect examples of schadenfreude you’ll find on the internet, let alone Youtube.
One man luckily captures a show-off in his Lamborghini crash into two stationary cars. You can probably imagine the scenario: red lights turn green,...
