- Jackie Chan asked Won Jin to star in Supercop (1992). But out of loyalty to director David Lai he had to turn it down, as he had already agreed to star in Lai's film Women on the Run (1993), which was filming at the same time.
- Founder of the South Korean stunt team "Action Korea (A.K)" who have worked on many South Korean movies and TV shows. The team trained at his gym "WonJin Action Academy" in Seoul, South Korea, where Won Jin would also train actors/actress' for their upcoming action roles, such as Shin Eun-kyung and Lee Chung-Ah. Many of the team members went on to become some of South Korea's top action directors and stunt performers.
- Won Jin's "Heaven's Knife Whirlwind Kick" technique from Operation Scorpio (1992) can be used as a fighting technique while playing as the character Lei Wu-long in the following games in the Tekken series: Tekken 4 (2001); Tekken 5 (2004); Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection (2005); Tekken 6 (2007); Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (2011); Tekken 7 (2015). In these games it is called the "Comet Kick".

- Won Jin recalls his first movie experience being Bruce Lee's Ways of Kung Fu (1979) on which he was a stunt double for the female cast, a duty he'd repeat several times in his career, including for the leading lady in the My Wife Is a Gangster (2001) movie series.
- Director Corey Yuen had wanted Won Jin to star in The Legend of Fong Sai-Yuk 2 (1993) alongside Jet Li, but due to other commitments he was unable to participate.

- The character "Scorpion" in the video game Martial Masters (1999) is based on Won Jin's iconic character "Sonny Wong" from the Hong Kong martial arts movie Operation Scorpio (1992).
- The iconic scorpion stance performed by Won Jin as Sonny Wong in Operation Scorpio (1992), was the inspiration for the "Scorpion Dance" move used by K-pop group "Infinite", as can be seen in the music video for their song "BTD".
- In the video game Tekken Tag Tournament (1999), some of the moves used by Lei Wu-long are inspired by Won Jin's performance as "Sonny Wong" in Operation Scorpio (1992). The final acrobatic kicking move from Lei's ending movie is a shot for shot recreation of the "Heaven's Knife Whirlwind Kick" from that movie. Although this move can't be performed in this game, it became available in later entries in the series under the name "Comet Kick".
- Won Jin was a pioneer of martial arts tricking, decades before it became a popular practice. The combination of his incredible kicking ability and high level gymnastic skills made for awesome displays of early tricking techniques, many of which have become staples of the art. An obvious example is his "Heaven's Knife Whirlwind Kick" from Operation Scorpio (1992), which is an aerial twist leading into a 540 whirlwind kick, which has since become a popular tricking combination.
- In the movie Kung Fu Boys (2016), the female bodyguard Sachiko, played by Wei Wei, uses Won Jin's famous "Scorpion Stance" from Operation Scorpio (1992).
