Als einer von zwölf Filmen kann sich Noaz Deshes französisch-deutsche Koproduktion „Xoftex“ Hoffnungen machen, im Hauptwettbewerb des 58. Internationalen Filmfestivals von Karlovy Vary (28. Juni bis 6. Juli) mit dem Kristallglobus ausgezeichnet zu werden.
„Die offizielle Auswahl des 58. Kviff bietet ein einzigartiges Epizentrum von Genres und Themen, die das zeitgenössische Kino bewegen“, sagt der Künstlerische Direktor des Festivals, Karel Och, über das diesjährige Programm.
Insgesamt sind 21 deutsche (Ko-)Produktionen nach Karlovy Vary eingeladen worden:

Das Festival für Kinder- und Jugendfernsehprogramme Prix Jeunesse International hat in diesem Jahr sein 60. Jubiläum gefeiert. Als einziges rein deutsches Programm wurde die bereits vielfach prämierte KiKA-Serie „Animanimals“ ausgezeichnet.

Die von Studio Film Bilder im Auftrag von KiKA und Swr produzierte Animationsserie „Animanimals“ ist beim Prix Jeunesse International in München in der Kategorie Shorts ausgezeichnet worden.
Das Vorschulformat, das nach Angaben des KiKA bereits mehr als 50 Auszeichnungen erhalten hat – darunter 2019 den Grimme-Preis – beschäftigt sich mit Eigenarten von Tieren, „die zum Ausgangspunkt verrückter Wendungen einer jeden Geschichte werden“, wie es der Sender formuliert. So will sich in der aktuell ausgezeichneten Folge eine Katze Mäusesuppe kochen, bringt es aber nicht übers Herz, ihre Freunde in den Topf zu werfen.
