"Take him out! Make a show of it." Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for a crime action thriller film titled Red Right Hand, which is not connected with the video game series Red Dead Redemption. The film is now set to open soon in late February, without any festival premieres or any other appearances before. Orlando Bloom stars as Cash, who is trying to live an honest and quiet life, but when the small town crime kingpin "Big Cat" forces him back into her services, he proves capable of anything to protect the town and the only family he has left. Andie MacDowell co-stars as the big boss "Big Cat", which seems like some intriguing casting. Also with Garret Dillahunt, Brian Geraghty, James Lafferty, Jeremy Ratchford, Nicholas Logan, Scott Haze, and Alexandra Park. This looks like another standard gritty Appalachia crime thriller, with plenty of shoot outs and arguments and backcountry rendezvous and more.

However, there are also those movies that slipped under everyone’s radars for whatever reason, ultimately causing them to be overlooked. So the objective here is to bring more attention to these releases as horror fans play catch-up.
Like last year, 2023 was a strong year for horror. And these ten hidden gems might have escaped notice at the time, but it’s never too late to discover them now.

James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti, former cast members of the popular TV series “One Tree Hill,” returned to the Monte-Carlo Television Festival this week to present the premiere of the second season of their independently produced comedy “Everyone Is Doing Great,” described by the duo as an “anti-Entourage.” According to Colletti, the show will have a third season, and will continue to operate independently for now.

Following a couple of somewhat lighter weeks in the Specialty space, this weekend is really ramped up with star-lead limited release awards contenders vying for box office recognition. Focus Features rolls out Mary Queen of Scots, starring Oscar nominees Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie as the 15th century rival monarchs of Scotland and England, respectively. The title opens three weeks after The Favourite, another big screen look at a female British monarch (and members of her rivalrous court) from centuries past. That film had the year’s best per theater average opener at $105K in November. Ld Entertainment/Roadside Attractions/Lionsgate are rolling out Peter Hedges’ Ben Is Back starring his son Lucas Hedges as well as Oscar-winner Julia Roberts as a mother who confronts her son’s addiction.

#Loyals, we’re so thankful for your undying support of #TheRoyals, but sadly our reign has officially come to an end. It has been a true privilege to bring this series to life and to work with such an amazing cast and crew on 4 incredible seasons! #LongLiveTheRoyals pic.twitter.com/DPmb7zoMYm

After E! annouced on August 16 that it was ending its first and only remaining original scripted series, the production company said it had been in talks with sister cable network Pop — a co-venture between Lionsgate and CBS — for a possible Season 5 pickup. Now it’s confirmed that isn’t to be.

Despite declining ratings each season, E! has continued to renew The Royals TV show, when it might have been cancelled on other networks. As the cabler's first foray into scripted fare, they have given this primetime soap opera every chance. After production was done on the fourth season though, they fired creator Mark Schwahn, in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations. How that ultimately affects this low-rated show's fate remains to be seen and likely depends on the ratings in the fourth season. Will The Royals be cancelled or renewed for season five? Stay tuned. *Status update below.

“The Royals'” reign has come to an end. E! has canceled the one-hour drama series after four seasons, Variety has learned.
“E! will not be moving forward with another season of ‘The Royals,’ which launched in 2015 as the network’s first original scripted series,” a spokesperson for E! told Variety in a statement. “Over four seasons, ‘The Royals’ took viewers behind the palace gates on a scandalous journey filled with twists and turns. Season 4 of the series aired between March and May earlier this year. In Live+Same Day viewing, the season averaged a 0.2 rating in adults 18-49 and around 400,000 viewers per episode, down approximately 30% in the key demo from Season 3. Sources say that the show could continue at the cable network Pop, which is a joint venture between CBS Entertainment and Lionsgate Entertainment.
