New Delhi, Feb 13: Hitting big time with his first film, Indian-origin actor Ricky Sekhon, who plays Osama bin Laden in Kathryn Bigelow's Oscar-nominated "Zero Dark Thirty", says he loved the challenge but wasn't sure whether he could pull it off.
"I wasn't sure if I could pull it off. I didn't have an agent looking after me or a team around me to help prepare for the part. I hadn't seen the script. And I was definitely not 'Bin Laden skinny'.
"But how does one play the global face of evil? For any actor this would have the best challenge and I loved the challenge, so there was no second thought," Ricky told Ians in an email.

New York, Dec 17: British actor Ricky Sekhon, who portrayed Osama bin Laden in the film 'Zero Dark Thirty', has admitted that playing the role of the terrorist was worrying.
The 29-year-old, who is of Indian descent and is 6-foot-4 and describes himself as "the least dangerous person I know", said that he got the part after being called to audition for a role the casting director was not allowed to name.
"I think I was asked about my height a few times, and that made me think, 'Ok, I'll be playing a tall man or woman,' " the New York Post quoted him as saying.
"But I wasn't fooling myself. My span of film castings.

Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty is one of a handful of strong contenders coming our way this December in the Us, in the height of the Oscar season.

Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty, her follow-up to The Hurt Locker which swept the Oscars a few years back, sees her returning behind the camera with a very promising ensemble.
We caught the first trailer over the summer, and a new poster at the start of the month, but until now, one member of the cast has been kept completely secret.
EW have revealed that the filmmakers have been holding back James Gandolfini’s part, starring as,
“one of the highest-ranking government figures featured in the film — Leon Panetta, the current Secretary of Defense, who was head of the CIA when bin Laden was found and killed.”
Gandolfini stars alongside Mark Strong, Joel Edgerton, Jessica Chastain, Kyle Chandler, Jason Clarke, Scott Adkins, Jennifer Ehle, Chris Pratt, Édgar Ramirez, Frank Grillo, Nash Edgerton, and a welcome surprise in Mark Duplass, with Ricky Sekhon taking the role of bin Laden himself.

We got our first look at Kathryn Bigelow’s controversial follow-up to her Oscar-winning The Hurt Locker this week, with the release of the first teaser trailer and images from the film.
Following that promising debut, we’ve now got a pretty excellent first poster to share, playing up the secrecy within the film (perhaps as well as accusations, which Bigelow has denied, that the filmmakers were given access to classified information).
“For a decade, an elite team of intelligence and military operatives, working in secret across the globe, devoted themselves to a single goal: to find and eliminate Osama bin Laden. Zero Dark Thirty reunites the Oscar® winning team of director-producer Kathryn Bigelow and writer-producer Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker) for the story of history’s greatest manhunt for the world’s most dangerous man.”
