The Boys Season Four: Billy Butcher Gets The Band Back Together In Bloody Beautiful Official Trailer
Last night during their Ccxp presentation, Prime Video launched the first official trailer for The Boys season four and it's every bit as batshit crazy as we've come to expect from Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his gang of lovable misfits.
Picking up a short while after the events of season three, which aired in 2022, the trailer quickly reacquaints us to the world of The Boys, with Billy doing his best to make amends with his former team. With the squad not exactly keen on bringing him back into the fold, he seemingly reveals his terminal diagnosis and then it seems like it'll be all hands on deck as our favorite band of heroes team up to take down Homelander (Antony Starr) once and for all.
In addition to Urban and Starr, the returning main cast includes Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone,...

When Amazon’s “The Boys” debuts its fourth season next month, things are shaping up to be crazier than the time they blew up a whale and that other time they blew up a giant penis, as it seems Butcher (Karl Urban) and Homelander (Antony Starr) are ready to burn their whole lives down — and take everyone else with them.
In “The Boys” Season 4 trailer, Butcher reveals to Hughie (Jack Quaid), Starlight (Erin Moriarty) and the rest of the Boys that time is running out for him, and with the few numbered days he and his weakened heart have left, he’s looking to unleash a deadly virus on the supe community. To get the job done, Butcher has teamed up with new character, played by “Supernatural” alum Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who seems to want supes wiped out entirely as soon as possible to save humanity.

Last month, it was announced that writer/producer Judalina Neira is developing a TV series reimagining of the classic sitcom Bewitched for Sony Pictures Television, aiming to turn it into an “irreverent hourlong” show. NBC clearly likes the idea of reviving Bewitched, because now Deadline has broken the news that the network has their own “Bewitched-inspired” show called Something Wicked in the works, and this one already has a star attached: June Diane Raphael, who may be best known for playing the character Brianna Hanson for the 94 episodes that make up the Netflix series Grace and Frankie, which ran for seven seasons.
Raphael is also writing and executive producing Something Wicked with Dickinson creator Alena Smith. A multi-camera comedy, the show is described as having a Bewitched-type premise and will also serve as an homage to TV sitcom classics. Exclusive: NBC is developing Something Wicked, a multi-camera comedy starring June Diane Raphael and written and executive produced by Raphael and Dickinson creator Alena Smith.
Something Wicked is described as a comedy with a Bewitched-type premise and an homage to TV sitcom classics. It examines the condition of modern adult womanhood and how even with witchcraft, balancing everything is impossible.
Smith and Raphael write and executive produce. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio.
This is the latest high-profile multi-camera comedy project at NBC. The network, which has pivoted toward an all-multi-camera comedy slate over the last year and a half, also has a sitcom pilot headlined by Reba McEntire.
Bewitched, which originally aired on ABC from 1964-72, starred Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha Stevens, a witch who marries an ordinary mortal man, played by Dick York and later Dick Sargent, and vows to lead the life of a typical suburban housewife.

The original Bewitched was a lighthearted sitcom about a supernaturally gifted housewife who could alter reality just by wiggling her nose.
But it sounds like we'll soon be presented with a very different version of Samantha Stephens.
A reboot described as "an irreverent hourlong reimagination" of Bewitched is currently in development by Sony and writer-producer Judalina Neira.
Yes, this is your classic "gritty reboot," and if Neira's work on The Boys is any indication, you can expect it to be quite dark.
Perhaps Samantha will use her powers to become a cocaine kingpin, or maybe every time she wiggles her nose, a random person will die. The possibilities are endless!
According to a new report from Deadline, Neira -- who will be executive producing alongside Doug Robinson and Lauren Moffat -- is helming the show as the first project for both her overall deal with Sony and her new production company,...

A new series reboot of irreverant, witchy comedy “Bewitched” is on the way from “The Boys” scribe and “Gen V” co-executive producer Judalina Neira. Deadline reports that the series reboot is the first project under Neira’s new deal with Sony Pictures TV.
Written by Neira, the “Bewitched” reboot is described as an hour-long reimagining of the classic TV series that premiered in 1964 and ran for 254 episodes. It followed a witch named Samantha, who married a mortal man and attempts to lead the life of a stereotypical suburban housewife.
“Bewitched” is part of Neira’s newly signed deal with Sony Pictures Television focused on developing drama series for cable and streaming through her newly launched production company, Famous Last Words Productions.

The classic sitcom Bewitched ran for eight seasons and a total of 254 episodes, premiering on September 17, 1964 and wrapping up on March 25, 1972. A spin-off called Tabitha came and went in 1977, then Bewitched received a big screen reboot back in 2005… and in recent years, Sony has shown that they’re very eager to reboot the property again. Back in 2018, it was announced that Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and writer Yamara Taylor were working on a TV series reboot that would give the concept “an interracial twist”. That didn’t go anywhere. In 2021, it was reported that Terry Matalas (MacGyver) and Travis Fickett (12 Monkeys) had been hired to write the screenplay for a new Bewitched movie. That never made it into production… and apparently the idea has been abandoned, because now Deadline has learned that writer/producer Judalina Neira has signed an overall deal with Sony Pictures Television that’s focused on developing...

Prime Video’s first teaser trailer for The Boys season four shows a world on the verge of war. “All democracies fail because people are f****** stupid,” says a voice-over, adding, “But if you crush the masses, who builds your monuments?”
The solution is to allow people to tear the world apart themselves, and then the supes can swoop in and save it.
The trailer teases some wild action scenes (as expected from this twisted series) and ends with the introduction of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character.

It hasn’t quite been a month since the first three episodes premiered on September 29, meaning that the series wouldn’t have appeared yet on the Nielsen streaming charts. It’s possible that more data will be available in the coming weeks, if the series cracks the streaming Top 10.

Welcome, new students of Godolkin University! The spin-off of Prime Video’s breakout hit, the superhero satire The Boys, will be premiering in a few days. Gen V takes fans into the new generation of supers as they learn the lessons they need to be tried and true superheroes. Amazon has now released an orientation video for God U, the college that will be the setting for the show. The video features the stars of the show mugging it up for the camera as they parody the cheesy acting in the usual presentation for videos of this nature.
The official synopsis for Gen V from Amazon reads,
“Set in the diabolical world of The Boys, Gen V expands the universe to Godolkin University, the prestigious superhero-only college where students train to be the next generation of heroes – preferably with lucrative endorsements. You know what happens when supes go bad, but...

School is in session for a new generation of superpowered individuals in Prime Video’s official Gen V Redband trailer. After the monumental success of Prime Video’s The Boys, a new crop of potential heroes and villains rule the halls of a university designed to shape the alpha and omegas of tomorrow. Still, something isn’t quite right in the Godolkin University halls, and the mystery is claiming lives as it unfolds. Competition to be the best in class is fierce, and only some survive the experience. The halls run red with the blood of lesser classmen, and the race to become a member of the Seven, the world’s premiere superhero team, is as deadly as they come.
The series will debut exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, with three episodes on Friday, September 29, followed by weekly episodes leading up to the epic season finale on Friday,...

A new generation of supes is on the rise in the first trailer for “Gen V,” Prime Video’s upcoming spin-off of their subversive hit superhero show “The Boys.”
The series from Amazon’s streamer sets to expand “The Boys'” world of hyper-capitalist superheroes and corrupted mega-corporations by introducing the students of Godolkin University. The superhero-only college, complete with a bronzed Homelander statue, is where the young upstarts train to become the next generation of celebrated (and lucrative) heroes like the Seven.

The writers and actors strike is getting a boost from the comics world and a new superhero named General Strike.
Indie publisher Black Mask Studios, run by Matteo Pizzolo, is putting together a comics anthology that will be written by WGA members with the company matching the writers’ fees with donations to the safety net organization Entertainment Community Fund.
The announcement comes as the writers strike hits its 100th day. No new contract talks are scheduled to begin any time soon.
Titled General Stike: Calexit and Other Tales of Fighting the Good Fight, the collection of new stories has the theme of confronting economic inequality and, like any good superhero story, featuring new characters fighting the good fight against injustice. A bubblegum-chewing, labor-organizing character named General Strike will act as the host of the comic, threading the stories together.
The book is in pre-launch mode on Kickstarter now, with an official launch set for Aug.

Prime Video released the official teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Amazon Original series Gen V. The series will debut with three episodes on Friday, September 29, followed by weekly episodes, leading up to the epic season finale on Friday, November 3.
The official teaser gives audiences a peek into life at Godolkin University, America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International). From the world of The Boys comes Gen V, which explores the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about Compound V, and that their powers were injected into them, rather than God-given.
These young, competitive heroes put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s highly coveted top ranking. They quickly come to learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and the difference between right and wrong is not as clear as they once believed. When the university’s dark secrets come to light,...

Changing the setting to a college campus was always going to be hit or miss for The Boys franchise.
Prime Video dropped the teaser trailer for the Gen V on Monday morning, and my first impression is that the series has managed to nail the tone from its predecessor.
The Boys has been one of the biggest success stories to hit TV screens for the streaming service since its launch in 2019, so there are high expectations for the latest chapter in the franchise.

Prime Video released the first teaser for “Gen V,” set to premiere exclusively on the streamer with its first three episodes on Sept. 29, followed by weekly episodes through its season finale on Nov. 3.
“The Boys” spin-off series explores the training of the first generation of superheroes who are aware they received their powers by getting injected with Compound V, the substance at the center of much of the flagship show’s tension. The heroes put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s highly coveted top ranking. When the university’s dark secrets come to light, the students must come to grips with what type of heroes they are going to become.

Los Angeles, July 21 (Ians) The heavily popular and acclaimed web-series ‘The Boys’ will now be getting its spin-off in the show ‘Gen V’ which just released its teaser.
Putting the bloody and twisted heroism of Homelander aside, ‘Gen V’ will explore the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about Compound V, whose power is artificial rather than God-given.
As they put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, the lead characters will learn that with ambition comes sacrifice, with power comes responsibility, with duty comes emotional conflicts, making them see that the there is a very thin line between right and wrong, and that nothing is black and white as they explore the many shades of grey.
Much like the training for any competitive exam, these young aspiring new bloods will be competing for the school’s highly coveted top ranking as they uncover the university...

Striking writers now have a new punching bag: Bob Iger.
After telling CNBC’s David Faber Thursday that the labor situation is “very disturbing” and how the Hollywood unions aren’t being realistic about the current financial climate, WGA picketers went postal on social media by pointing out the massive pay disparity between the Disney CEO and most working writers today.
In a lengthy sit-down with CNBC from Sun Valley, Idaho, Iger addressed the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes and his ongoing feud with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Though his digs at DeSantis were lauded — he called the governor’s claims that Disney is sexualizing children “preposterous and inaccurate”— he lost the Tinseltown rank and file when he said “this is the worst time in the world” to walk off the job.
“I understand any labor organization’s desire to work on behalf of its members to get the most compensation...

Disney CEO Bob Iger sat down for an interview Thursday morning and started trending immediately after he said that the WGA and SAG-AFTRA’s conditions were “just not realistic” and that the prospect of a writers and actors strike was “very disturbing.”
Iger’s comments come on a historic day, when SAG-AFTRA is expected to announce they are joining WGA on the picket lines after their Wednesday contract negotiations deadline passed without a deal. It would be the first Hollywood double strike in sixty years.
Also notable for context, Iger’s comments arrive the day after his Disney contract was extended for an additional two years. Sky-high executive salaries have become a lightning rod during the WGA strike and a rallying cry on social media as CEOs.

Montserrat Luna-Ballantyne is walking in circles, picket sign raised high, with a scant group outside an NBCUniversal gate on a Thursday morning that is beginning to turn warm. The striking Writers Guild of America member (With Love) comes to NBCUniversal frequently — it’s nearby to where to she lives, and she can take the bus — but this morning is slightly different, less dutiful, than a typical three-hour shift.
As songs like Sixpence None the Richer’s “Kiss Me” and Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn” play on a speaker at the gate, Luna-Ballantyne is doing the circuit, from one sidewalk to another, nearby one writer in a Xena: Warrior Princess t-shirt and another in a spaghetti strap dress. She herself is wearing butterfly clips, a choker and earrings shaped like the cartoon cat Luna from Sailor Moon. “I enjoy coming to themed pickets — it mixes it up a little bit,” she says while pausing.

The day after New York-based pickets were canceled for the week because of smoke, the gathering at Warner Bros. in Los Angeles was a bit smaller on Thursday, with less than 50 people gathering in support of the WGA strike.
One bright spot was the so-called “Bike Strike” protest that rolled through. That strike action took the form of a rolling protest of bicyclists who planned to make their way “from Radford to Amazon,” with stops at Warners to Disney and then over the hill Netflix. In all, organizers estimated it at 27 miles, “all downhill-ish!” Plus a stop at Swingers for Lunch.

An informational hearing on “Unseen Latinas in Hollywood” was held Friday in Sacramento to explore the barriers Latinas face in the film and TV industry.
“Despite Latinas making up 20% of the population in California, we continue to be excluded, erased and misrepresented in movies and on TV,” said Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez (D-San Diego), chairwoman of the Select Committee on Latina Inequities, who hosted the hearing.
“When we are shown, it’s often as a supporting character, not the lead; a best friend; possibly a prostitute, a drug addict or somebody in a gang,” she said. “When Latinas are missing from shows and movies, or only depicted in a certain way, our contributions to American culture can be overlooked and unseen. When Latinas are missing behind the scenes as writers, directors, showrunners and crew members, this impacts which stories are told and the shape of how they are told.”
