Lawrence is originally from Fremont, California, but would be raised on Guam due to struggles with severe asthma attacks and allergies until returning to the US to attend high school after his health improved. In his last two years of high school, Lawrence would connect with professional comic artists to pursue his love for comic books eventually landing assistant work / ghost work in the comic book industry while still a senior. After graduating, Lawrence would work both as a professional graphic artist and assistant comic book artist until deciding to attend the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where he would graduate with a BA in film and television production. He continued freelancing as a comic book assistant while working on studio film/commercial productions and eventually became a film professor at both the university and community college for a 15 year period. It is his time as a professor, Lawrence would meet filmmaker Patricio Ginelsa and form a collaborative partnership through Kid Heroes Productions after being introduced by a student through a film shoot. Lawrence left teaching to pursue full time studio film production and focus on producing creative works with Patricio and Kid Heroes Productions. Over the course of twenty plus years, Lawrence has worked with studios such as Warner Brothers, Fox, Pixar, Universal, Paramount, (with works such as: Matrix 1 & 2, Venom 2, a Bruce Lee Documentary ) and commercials under Canon, Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn while doing freelance art. Lawrence loves his indie collaboration work developing other projects both film & comic books and continues to work for major studio film productions and commercials.
