Alexander Kushaev was born on March 8, 1973 in Moscow. In 1998 He graduated from the High Courses for Scriptwriters and Film Directors and started his carrier as a reporter for RTR TV programs and later on was involved in production of various TV programming for RTR, NTV and TV Centre as a director. 2015-2019, he was appointed as Head of Film and Series Department, General Producer and many of the projects developed and created by his team brought the channel to high ratings, among them there are such critically acclaimed TV series as Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes, The Blood Lady, Ekaterina. Impostors, Sklifosovsky and many others.
His filmography consists of more than 500 film and television series titles, in particular Alexander Kushaev is a producer of the top grossing feature films such as Son of a Rich, The Last Warrior, The Last Warrior: Root of Evil. Some of the feature films produced by Alexander (Tale in the Darkness, How I Ended This Summer, A Long and Happy Life, Living, The Painted Bird and others) participated in international film festivals and were awarded, including the Berlin Film Festival 2010 (How I Ended this Summer-Silver Bear for Best Actor, Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Achievement), the London Film Festival 2010 (How I Ended this Summer - Award for Best Film), the Venice Film Festival 2019 (Painted Bird - UNICEF Award).
