Elsa Valdez is a multi-media filmmaker; A director, cinematographer, editor
a film instructor & yoga teacher living and working in Los Angeles, California.
"Dynamic, experienced, resilient & creative with a natural eye for composition and lighting, Elsa is a versatile, professional filmmaker and collaborator.
Elsa's professional film career began as a photographer and editor more than a decade ago. Elsa has created music videos, documentaries, narratives, commercials, content for phone applications, directed the live feed for concert music festivals, created the lighting for web series & several feature & short narrative films and music videos.
In addition to mentoring young female filmmakers through the "She Sees" film program, Ms. Valdez volunteers for the Good Shepard Shelter for Homeless Women.
The short film "No Women's Face Remember" that Ms. Valdez directed the photography for screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016.
Ms. Valdez was the Guest Artist in Residence at Interlochen Center for the Arts, Interlochen MI Teaching Cinematography/Post Production & Editing, Fall 2018
Ms. Valdez is a 2007 graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography with a BFA in Commercial Film Production
Ms. Valdez is a 2009 graduate of The American Film Institute Conservatory with a MFA in Cinematography
Ms. Valdez is an adjunct professor at California Institute of the Arts.
