Lyricist and writer Puneet Sharma, after penning songs for the recently released ‘Doctor G’, is now set for his next film ‘Woh Ladki Hai Kahan’, featuring Taapsee Pannu and Pratik Gandhi, besides music composed by Amit Trivedi.
Talking about ‘Woh Ladki Hai Kahan’, Sharma said: “Since the film is drama comedy, there were many different situations, opportunities for writing diverse songs. I feel that contemporary songs these days have started losing touch with the story of the film. Connection of the song with the story isn’t considered necessary anymore.”
However, he said that the chances to write songs that reflect the story as well, which become a prominent part of the story and film making, are becoming really rare.
“Fortunately, this movie gave me such a chance, and I tried my best to portray facets of the story in my lyrics, either directly, or indirectly. The film also has an emotional number,...

Doctor G
Written & Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap
There is a rather serio-comic sequence in this film about a gender-challenged hero who discovers he is not scared of vaginas, after a woman screams molestation when he examines her the way any professional gynaecologist should. Except that this one is a male And women are habitually suspicious of men who probe into their private space.
All this plotting pranking is like one lengthy joke where the punchlines never allowed to grow into ‘paunch’ lines, and the storytelling so toned it never grow a tonde(potbelly).
Lean and fat free, perky and precocious Doctor G is filled with scenes of feisty women gynaecologists ragging and bullying Ayushmann Khurrana. He wants to be the elephant in the operation theatre.
The cast is uniformly entertaining, both on and off duty. Sheeba Chadha as Khurrana’s mom is habitually spaced out. Can’t she ever ne normal?...

First things first, though positioned as a comedy drama, Doctor G is an adult film and rightly so rated 18+. Ayushmann Khurrana moves from being a sperm donor to a Gynaecologist. The film is about a reluctant male pushed into the gynaecology department for the lack of seats in his interest area of Orthopaedics. The comedy or humour in the film, if at all we should term it as one, is the free use of feminine or genital medical terms and the expression of not being interested in something that is ‘labelled’ as women oriented. Tagging the film as a comedy for the above reasons may even sound like mockery of the world’s most important profession.

As ‘Doctor G’ starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah is nearing its release, the medical campus comedy-drama is in news for all the right reasons. Be it fun, quirky posters to the hilarious trailer, this entertainer has piqued huge curiosity and excitement amongst the audiences.
Since the movie showcases doctors and medical fraternity in a light-hearted way with a universal humour & messaging, the makers had organised a special screening for the doctors in Mumbai over the weekend. Adding a dose of entertainment to their routine and stressful life, Junglee Pictures had kept a screening for over 50 real doctors.
Apparently, the response and love from the doctors have been overwhelming. The screening witnessed a packed house, with doctors laughing their hearts out and praising the stupendous performances of the cast and the hilarious yet sensitive narrative portrayed in the film. Mumbai, Oct 9 (Ians) Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer ‘Doctor G’ has received an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board and the filmmakers are happy that no cuts were suggested to the movie.
Doctor G shows Ayushmann portraying the role of a Gynaecologist in a medical campus comedy-drama. It is a journey of an aspiring orthopedic surgeon who instead gets into studying gynecology. Being the only male in a women-dominated department, there begins his humorous struggle to fit in.
Amrita Pandey, CEO Junglee Pictures said: “The movie is bold, high on entertainment, yet subtly breaks stereotypes as one might expect from a true Ayushmann Khurrana film. Despite not having any explicit content, it is a movie for young adults who are exposed to bold yet sensitive and hilarious content and can of course watch it with their families.”

Ayushmann Khurrana, the name has become a genre in itself. This time around, his next, Doctor G, shows him portraying the role of a male Gynaecologist in a medical campus comedy-drama and has received an ‘A’ certification which is advisory for 18+ audiences, making it a first for Ayushmann.

From playing a character who suffers from erectile dysfunction to bringing forth issues of premature balding, Ayushmann Khurrana has always pushed the envelope with his portrayals. The actor takes his game to another level with playing a male gynecologist in the upcoming film ‘Doctor G’.
The makers of the hilarious medical campus comedy-drama dropped the rib-tickling trailer of the film on Tuesday, giving a glimpse how Ayushmann’s character struggles to be a male gynecologist around female patients.
The over two-minute trailer shows Ayushmann asking to change his course from Gynaecology to orthopedic. Later in the clip, actress Shefali Shah, who too plays a gynecologist is seen asking Ayushmann, who starts attending classes, to lose the “male touch” to understand women. The trailer ends in a hilarious sex education to a couple who are trying for a baby.

With two successful collaborations Bareily Ki Barfi (2017) and Badhaai Ho (2018) under their belt, both Ayushmann Khurrana & Junglee Pictures are coming together with their next movie titled ‘Doctor G’, to create magic yet again.
Ayushmann says "Doctor G is a script that I fell in love with instantly because it is super fresh. It is an extremely unique and an innovative concept that will make you laugh and also make you ponder. I’m excited to don the doctor’s coat for the first time in my career and also deliver a message in the process that will hopefully speak directly to your hearts.”
To be directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, this film is a campus comedy drama where the main protagonist will be seen playing a doctor. It’s been a while since that has happened in Hindi films and with Ayushmann playing ‘Doctor G’, the wait is definitely going to be worth Anubhuti Kashyap,...

Before I watched the film, I had heard comments like “Indian epic,” “one of the best Asian films ever produced,” “a true masterpiece” and other similar characterizations, which usually make me suspicious, to say the least. However, in this case, every dithyramb was absolutely true as “Gangs of Wasseypur” is one of the best gangster films ever produced.
The script, which stretches over 5 hours, tells the story of the family of Khans over 5 generations and their adventures in the city of Wasseypur, where mafia wars and lawlessness seem to be the rule. Starting in the 40s with Shahid Khan, the story then moves on Sardar Khan, who found his apogee in the 70s, and ends with one of his sons, Faizal, and Definite, Sardar’s son from a different woman. Throughout all these years, the archenemy of the family remains Ramadhir, a corrupt official who starts as a trade union...

Five young directors under the supervision of filmmaker AnuragKashyap have created five short format movies that are centered on the core theme of ‘India is a Visual Journey’. The films capture the various lives in India beautifully. Each story picks up a particular element that represents the pulse of India in the current time.
Talking about this great opportunity, Anubhuti Kashyap, director of Moi Marjani, says, “This is the story of a middle aged woman, raising her child independently, the problems that she faces in her daily life and about her search for love. The movie is based in Patiala and its called Moi Marjani as this is very Punjabi way of an old person addressing a young person with a lot of affection which may seem like scolding.”
All the short films are launched by Bollywood giant Viacom18 Motion Pictures giving these young and talented directors a great platform.
