Connor Ratliff spent the last 20 years trying to figure out why Tom Hanks fired him from a small role on HBO’s Band of Brothers.
His podcast Dead Eyes documents this journey and Ratliff has finally found his white whale – Hanks is coming on his podcast for the season three finale.
Ratliff, who is currently starring in Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, has produced 30 episodes of the audio series, which is based around the suggestion that the Forrest Gump star said that he had “dead eyes” and replaced him with another actor at the last minute.
The show has featured conversations with the likes of Rian Johnson, Seth Rogen, Jon Hamm, D’Arcy Carden, Aparna Nancherla, Judd Apatow and Colin Hanks but now it has reached its peak guest in Hanks.

The future of CollegeHumor, the pioneering comedy website that rose to prominence before the rise of YouTube, was thrown into question Wednesday after the brand’s sale resulted in more than 100 layoffs.
InterActive Corp., the New York company that owned CollegeHumor parent Ch Media, sold its brands to CollegeHumor’s chief creative officer Sam Reich. Terms of the deal were undisclosed but Deadline reported that “all but a handful” of employees were notified of their layoffs Wednesday.
Reich, who joined CollegeHumor in 2006 was not available for comment, but shared the news on Twitter and said he aimed to continue operating the leading CollegeHumor brands, including Dropout, its comedy Svod streaming service. “I hope to be able to save Dropout, CollegeHumor, Drawfee, Dorkly, and many of our shows,” Reich said on Twitter. “Some will need to take on bold new creative directions in order to survive. You may not agree with all of them.

Bobcat Goldthwait enjoyed a long friendship with Robin Williams since they met at a comedy club kitchen in the 1980s up until Williams’ death in 2014. But Goldthwait has no current plans to watch HBO’s upcoming documentary about Williams’ life and career.
“I probably won’t watch the movie,” Goldthwait told Variety at Wednesday’s premiere of his new “Misfits & Monsters” anthology series. “Not out of protest — I just miss my friend, and I think it would be hard.”
The documentary, “Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind,” features interviews with some of Williams’ closest friends and colleagues, including his longtime comedy partner Billy Crystal and his “Mork & Mindy” co-star Pam Dawber. But when the filmmakers asked Goldthwait to participate, he declined.
“I wish them all the luck on the movie,” Goldthwait said. “I kind of stayed away. Our relationship is very personal.”

For more than two years, Jake Hurwitz and Amir Blumenfeld have worked on a TV pilot adapted from their hit CollegeHumor web series, Jake and Amir. Now, the comedy duo has revealed that their pilot will not go forward to series, and as a result, a return to the web is in the cards for them.
Hurwitz and Blumenfeld discussed the status of their pilot in the 189th episode of their podcast, If I Were You. They confirmed that they would not come to TV--at least not yet--but they pledged to continue their creative partnership. “TV still exists. The Internet still exists,” said Blumenfeld during the podcast. “We can create stuff that doesn't have to be Jake and Amir, it can be something else. It can be something entirely new, something exciting, something that builds upon what we've known and learned.”

For nearly eight years and 750 episodes, Jake and Amir told the story of two friends who come up with new, amusing ways to bother each other and everyone else around them. Now, Jake and Amir has come to an end. CollegeHumor posted the final episode of Jake Hurwitz and Amir Blumenfeld's web series on April 7th, 2015.
In the final episode, the titular duo gets fired from CollegeHumor after unleashing a vulgar film on the world. As they pack up their desks, they look back at one of their first videos, contemplate what to do next, and offer their thanks to the team that helped their web series roll up millions of views.

CollegeHumor's odd couple is taking a crack at TV. Jake Hurwitz and Amir Blumenfeld, who star in the massively successful web series Jake and Amir, are adapting their brainchild for TV with an assist from Ed Helms. Hurwitz and Blumenfeld, who both write for CollegeHumor, will pen and star in the series, with CollegeHumor and The Daily Show/The Office/The Hangover funnyman Helms producing. As in their web series, the two leads will play coworkers and best friends who must work together to successfully navigate their crazy workplace. CollegeHumor has released new episodes of Jake and Amir regularly since 2007, making it one of the longest-running scripted series on the web. The duo's shtick, which depicts Jake as a straight man and Amir as his slightly unhinged coworker, has proven quite durable. New episodes regularly draw hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube and many more on the CollegeHumor website.

It's only been a little over a day since the 3rd Streamy Awards concluded, but plenty of YouTubers have already taken to their vlogging equipment to post Streamys-related video. Here is a taste of what we've seen so far. Of course, the official Streamys channel has been the most active when it comes to video from the big event. We've already shared some of the speeches and performances, but keep in mind there's also a full complement of backstage interviews featuring presenters and winners. Did you know Harley Morenstein is the "Elijah Wood of the Ez-Bake Oven"? Also, Ken Marino might've been a tad drunk. SourceFed are super happy about their win for Series of the Year. They would also like Chris Hardwick to give them a hosting workshop. Also, theirs is a nice rundown of what happened at the Streamys, just in case you don't trust our admittedly biased synopses.

Since the birth of YouTube in 2005, the platform that hosts Everything, including actors, artists and comedians — has spread like wildfire, launching careers and shining a spotlight on many outstanding talents beyond that dog on the skateboard. Eight years later, rather than being a springboard for these creatives to move to TV or labels, the Internet has become another medium for them to showcase their work. Well, the cat's out of the bag. Comedian Sarah Colonna tweeted a photo of the cover of Variety's 2012's "10 Comics To Watch" ahead of its publication date.
As you can see in Colonna's photo below, the list, compiled annually by the entertainment publication, includes she and fellow comedians Jillian Bell, Kurt Braunohler, Rob Delaney, Lil' Rel Howery, Jake Hurwitz & Amir Blumenfeld of College Humor, Moshe Kasher, Joe Mande, Rory Scovel and Jessica Williams.
We'll have to wait until the end of the month to read why Variety chose the ten comedians, some up-and-coming and some already way on their way. For example, Delaney is already a household name on Twitter, having been crowned the funniest person on the social network at the 2012 Comedy Awards. Braunohler is currently hosting his own game show, "Bunk" on IFC, Joe Mande was recently hired as a writer for "Parks & Recreation" and Jessica Williams is...

Chicago – It might seem silly to buy a Christmas movie in February but “A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas” is not your typical holiday flick. And Warner Bros. wisely recognizes that these movies have never done well in theaters but dominate on the home market. In fact, “Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle” barely made a dent at the box office but was such a huge hit on the home market that it spawned two sequels. It would be easy to say that it’s less risky to get stoned to your favorite pot comedy on your couch but the fact is that these movies tap a young audience that likes to watch them over and over again. And, much to my surprise, the third film in this unlikely franchise shows no sign of a dip in quality. I’d even welcome a fourth.

CollegeHumor knows the art of the prank. The online destination (and soon to be major motion picture studio) for individuals craving online video comedy is responsible for the most entertaining tricks of an amusing, playful, and sometimes malicious nature found on any type of entertainment medium. First there was Amir Blumenfeld and Streeter Seidell’s Prank War, an epic, escalating battle of sado-one-upmanship involving, but not limited to, a $500,000 half court basketball shot, a non-working parachute, and a nonexistent television cameo. Next came the Midnight Talk Show Prank, conceived by a slightly masochistic Dan Gurewitch, who gave a two-week window and copy of his house keys to fellow CollegeHumorer Josh Ruben with instructions to sneak into his apartment way after bedtime and wake him up to host an impromptu, short-form talk show dubbed The Late Late Late Show. And then there was the MTV clipshow series Pranked, hosted by the...

[1] Comedy website CollegeHumor, best known for its viral shorts, is now looking to bring its irreverent sense of humor to theaters with its debut big-screen feature Coffee Town. Whether the company will actually succeed in its goal to become the next National Lampoon remains to be seen, but the promising array of talent they've lined up should help move things along. Arrested Development writer/producer Brad Copeland has been hired to direct the film, his first, from a script he wrote, while Glenn Howerton (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Steve Little (Eastbound & Down), Ben Schwartz (House of Lies, I guess but he'll always be Jean-Ralphio to me) and Josh Groban are lined up to star. It's not the highest profile roster I've ever seen, but it's none too shabby for a company making its first foray into film, either. More details after the jump. Howerton will lead the cast as...

CollegeHumor has been a staple for their original comedy videos from nitpicking every single element of the undergraduate experience to parodying films like Inception to launching the career of Jake Hurwitz and Amir Blumenfeld. They are about to step up their game to a whole other level, La Times reports.
The company is financing their first-ever feature film, already set to shoot next month. Titled Coffee Town, with a script from Arrested Development writer/producer Brad Copeland (who will direct), the comedy follows “thirtysomething underachievers” and already has quite the ensemble lined up. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Glenn Howerton will lead, along with Eastbound & Down’s Steve Little, Parks & Recreations‘ Ben Schwartz and musician Josh Groban, who last appeared in Crazy, Stupid, Love.
The “absurdist comedy” is described as “a little like Cheers” as the story centers on “Will, a website manager (Howerton), and his friends who...

In terms of films, Christmas is hardly a time of celebration. It’s a period of nostalgically re-watching family comedies from the late 80s and early 90s, singing along to musicals from the 50s and 60s, and tolerating whatever Christmas-themed dross Hollywood decides to shove down our throats. A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas gives a welcome twist to this pattern. While it inevitably succumbs to the thematic sentimentality of the festive season, it also provides plenty of crude gags and gross-out laughter along the way.
The plot sees Harold (John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn) re-united after years of estrangement. Harold is now a high-earning City boy trying for a baby with his stunning Latino wife, while Kumar is down-and-out stoner still living in the flat the pair used to share. When Kumar delivers a package addressed to Harold, the chaos quickly commences as the...

Comedy couple Harold and Kumar get all festive in A Very Harold And Kumar 3D Christmas. Here's Ron's review...
It’s been three years since Harold and Kumar had their last big Hollywood adventure, Harold And Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay, and seven years since Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle. However, that’s the real-world time stream. In Harold and Kumar’s world, it’s been six years since everyone’s second-favorite pair of stoners escaped from the clutches of the United States government, and since that time things have changed greatly for our heroes.
Harold (John Cho) has settled into a happy life. He’s married to a beautiful woman whose father-in-law (Danny Trejo in a great role) hates him, he’s got a great job on Wall Street, and he’s well on his way to becoming one of the one per cent richest people the...

Chicago – “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas” delivers exactly what fans should expect from it and even a bit more, as the actors who play the stoner icons have gotten noticeably better at their craft and the production team behind the film has gone all out in a quest to throw as many jokes as possible at the viewer in a barrage of attempts at hilarity. It’s one of those comedies in which if one joke falls flat for you (and more than one definitely will), it’s mere seconds before the writers are trying something different. Every time the film threatens to collapse, the sheer manic nature of the piece saves it.

Once again the magic of the holidays revives the third installment of a comedy movie franchise. In 1989 the Griswald family bounced back from their dismal European vacation with Nationial Lampoon’S Christmas Vacation, and now after their lackluster Guantanamo Bay escape those best buds are back in top form with A Very Harold And Kumar 3D Christmas. I’ll warn you that this film isn’t the family friendly romp with Chevy Chase’s clan-it earns that R rating, but it’s a return of the same kind of smart ‘ dumb’ comedy craftsmanship that imbued that original quest for “sliders”. And since it’s ” the most wonderful time of the year’, there’s a little extra to tug at your heart-strings ( to offset those sore-from-laughter ribs ).

Harold and Kumar are back with a crass comedy just in time for Christmas. And you know what? It’s absolutely hilarious. Featuring in-your-face 3D, A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas is a blisteringly irreverent comedy that prods prejudice stereotypes and takes shots at sacred cows (sometimes literally) while constructing a wild holiday adventure that is surprisingly sweet. Todd Strauss-Schulson makes his feature debut, which admittedly is a bit choppy in construction, but is kept rolling along with plenty of absurd and obscene sequences thanks to screenwriters Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who penned the pair’s previous journeys Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle and Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. Hurwitz and Schlossberg bring in the best elements of the first films (fearlessly politically incorrect jokes, off-the-wall characters, themes of loyalty and friendship, and Neil Patrick Harris) but up the ante with tons of holiday-themed madness, and 3D-friendly mayhem.

Much like the beloved heroes of the franchise, the .Harold & Kumar. series is growing up. The third installment still features toilet humor and gasp, male and female nudity, but the jokes are a bit smarter and the direction is a tad sharper.
The film even touches on problems with Wall Street when Harold (John Cho), who has now climbed up the ladder of success at the investment firm of Brewster Keegan, must run for safety as the protesters pelt him with eggs.
A lot has happened since the release of the last film .Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.. Cho became a part of the praiseworthy .Star Trek. and his partner-in-crime, Kal Penn, who plays Kumar, took a two-year sabbatical to work at the White House.

It's been three years in real time since we last caught up with stoner buds Harold & Kumar (in 2008's Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay) but it's been six years of time within the movies since the two friends played by Kal Penn and John Cho last spent time together. Their third film, and their first in 3D (and first outright holiday movie) sees the pair reunited and, judging by the looks on their faces, back in trouble. The first full official image of the pair and persistent scene-stealer Neil Patrick Harris is after the break. A lower-quality version of this image has been floating around for a couple weeks (scanned by The Playlist [1] from EW [2]) but here's the official digital version via Yahoo [3]. The first-ever 3-D live-action Christmas movie is slated for release on Nov. 4, according to Warner Brothers. Is it a coincidence that the first-ever 3-D stoner movie is also set for a Nov. 4 release by Warner Bros.? Nope, that’s just the magic of A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas — the third installment of Harold Lee and Kumar Patel’s wacky, genre-bending adventure trilogy is the first of its kind in so many ways.
