Three people are dead and several more injured after a truck hit a Halloween hayride trailer on Monday in Mississippi, reports say.
Two children and one adult — all related — were killed in the crash, and several were left with “life-threatening” injuries when the vehicle plowed into the ride on Halloween in Chunky, a small town about 80 miles from Jackson, NBC News reports.
“This is a bad thing to happen anywhere but when it’s local it really hits home,” Highway Patrol Sgt. Andy West told reporters at the scene Monday night. “These are good people and our hearts really go out to them.

Manchester United’s bid for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera has sensationally been hit by claims of fraud, according to Spanish football writer Andy West.
United reportedly sent delegates to the La Liga offices in Madrid to negotiate a deal for the 24-year-old, but it turns out the “representatives” had nothing to do with the Premier League champions.
Spanish media have published pictures of men in black suits (above) coming out of the league offices carrying briefcases, but it has since transpired they could be fraudsters.
The men were allegedly attempting to get a cut of the deal for Herrera in an elaborate scam, reports claim.
This comes as a sensational twist to what has been a dire summer of inactivity for manager David Moyes, whose only signing to date since taking over from the retired Sir Alex Ferguson has been unknown rookie Guillermo Varela.

After a deathly quiet summer of inactivity in the transfer market, it seems that David Moyes’ side have sprung into life, with mooted moves for Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini, and according to two Spanish football experts, we can now add a third attacking midfielder’s name to that list.
According to the BBC‘s Spanish football writer Andy West, as well as Guillem Balague from Sky Sports, United have made a massive bid for Real Madrid’s German international midfielder Samir Khedira.
West has reported that Spanish radio station Cadena Cope are claiming that Manchester United have made a bid of €40m for Khedira and that the bid was rejected by Real Madrid.

Manchester United’s efforts to sign Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini appear to have broken down, according to BBC Sport’s Chief Football Writer Phil McNulty.
The Premier League champions have been linked with the 25-year-old for much of the summer and have failed with two bids so far, one of £28 million and the second at the value of £36 million.
However, United manager David Moyes was hopeful of finally seeing a deal to reunite him with the Belgian at Old Trafford come to fruition, though the move now appears to be on the rocks.
According to McNulty, Everton boss Roberto Martinez attended a work permit hearing in an effort to gain permission to bid for Porto midfielder Fernando, but the news from Portugal is that a move will not happen.
The Brazil international was seen as a direct replacement for Fellaini, and it is understood his arrival was...
