Things that go bump in the night will be honored at the first ParaPod Awards, set for Saturday, April 1 as part of the ParaPod Festival in Santa Clarita, Calif.
The awards honor the influencers and content creators who work in the paranormal genre.
“As a content producer and host myself, being able to create a platform to celebrate the paranormal genre and those content creators who are working in it has been a long-time goal,” says ParaPod founder Tony Sweet. “Influencers, podcasters, documentary filmmakers, television producers, and hosts who dare to cover topics like UFOs or Bigfoot often get overlooked by mainstream awards shows, and I want to change that.”
Podcasters whose content covered the paranormal were asked to submit their work in various categories via the ParaPod Festival website. A committee of listeners rated the podcasts in their selected categories to create a list of finalists. The finalist podcasts...

The first annual Parapod Festival, a celebration of all things paranormal, is taking place Friday, March 31 through Saturday, April 1 at various Santa Clarita locations.
“Although there is an abundance of paranormal content with hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of views, we never really see these creators – filmmakers, podcasters, investigators – being honored,” remarked Tony Sweet, Parapod leader as well as executive producer and host of paranormal video podcast “Truth Be Told.” “That is why I wanted to develop a platform where all forms of paranormal content could be celebrated.”
Parapod will screen documentaries at the FilmFreeway Gold film festival, taking place the night of March 31 at the Regal Edwards Cinema Valencia, followed by stargazing at the Vasquez Rocks Nature Area.
Saturday, April 1 will be filled with guest lectures at the Hyatt Regency Valencia and ParaPod Awards in the evening. Guest lecturers include Dr. Robert M. Schoch from “Ancient Aliens,” Patti Negri of “Ghost Adventures,...

Jack Osbourne, who discovery+ fans are accustomed to seeing hunting for ghosts and, most recently, Bigfoot, has taken on a new mission in his latest two-hour special – investigating an infamous paranormal hotspot where UFOs frequent, animal mutilation has been documented and, oh yeah, there’ve been reports of alien abduction.
But what Osbourne ends up seeing – and catching on camera – goes above and beyond his wildest expectations and leaves him saying, “We came here looking for UFOs and ended up finding ‘other things.’”
In “Jack Osbourne’s Night of Terror: UFOs,” the “Portals to Hell” star teams up with a couple of his actor friends, Jason Mewes and Jamie Kennedy, with the trio heading off to Utah’s Uinta Basin, where the notoriously creepy and mysterious Skinwalker Ranch sits. The area has long been known for its otherworldly – and unexplainable – activity. In recent years, residents of the area have reported...

The tropes of an alien abduction — the UFO chasing the car, missing time, strange experiments, grey-skinned beings with large eyes — emerged primarily from two alleged experiences, the Betty and Barney Hill case in 1961, and Travis Walton’s in 1975. Beyond having an enormous influence on pop culture, these are the most famous so-called close encounters of the fourth kind.
They are also the most well-documented cases, according to UFO expert and former FBI special agent, Ben Hansen. And in two new discovery+ “Shock Docs,” Alien Abduction: Betty and Barney Hill and Alien Abduction: Travis Walton — debuting Feb. 18 on the streaming platform — Hansen walks audiences through the stories, and offers up new evidence that he believes corroborates the abductees’ claims. Likewise serving as consulting producer on the Shock Docs, Hansen, who is also currently filming the second season of UFO Witness for discovery+, joined Den of Geek’s paranormal pop culture...

Alien Invasion: Hudson Valley, the latest installment of discovery+’s Shock Docs franchise, opens with the disclaimer: “Now that the U.S. government can no longer deny the existence of UFOs, eyewitnesses feel emboldened to share their stories.” The residents of Pine Bush, in the heart of Hudson Valley, New York, can no longer take the undeniable. They are fed up with it. Aliens are a nuisance, let’s face it, especially when you’ve got “an alien highway” in your basement.
Area 51 has an excuse for its reputation, being government controlled and heavily secure. The Hudson Valley wants to be Roswell East. Just north of New York City, they’ve logged more UFO complaints than any other area in the world, bugging Mufon, the world’s largest civilian UFO investigative organization, with 3,000 extraterrestrial encounter reports in the past 10 years alone. But the reports go back over 100 years, the two-hour special documentary points out.

“What is this that stands before me,” Ozzy Osbourne asked on the song “Black Sabbath” by his band Black Sabbath. “Figure in black which points at me. Turn ’round quick and start to run. Find out I’m the chosen one.” Yes, The Prince of Darkness himself was picked to appear on Travel Channel’s two-hour special, The Osbournes: Night of Terror. This will be the first time Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne join their offspring Jack and Kelly Osbourne on their first-ever paranormal investigation together. The Osbournes: Night of Terror premieres Friday, Oct. 30 at 9 p.m. The event is part of Travel Channel’s third annual “Ghostober” programming event.
“Halloween is inching closer, and it wouldn’t be a spooky celebration without an appearance from the ‘First Family of Darkness’ themselves,” reads the press statement. “Get ready for a family fright night like no other.” The Osbournes will go inside the Heritage Square Museum,...

Even if you’re like me and have become quite skeptical as the years have come and gone, you can’t help that lingering suspicion that there may be more to reality than we usually comprehend. People you haven’t thought of in years can call you up moments after you’ve randomly thought of them. Notable events in life can initially manifest as premonitions in our sleep long before they actually take place. Certain places in the world can instill an unmistakable sense of dread and foreboding that can be tied to a disturbing occurrence in that location’s history.
James Cawley’s Haunted Travels invites you on a tour across many locations where multiple encounters of unexplainable paranormal events have taken place.
From underground human trafficking tunnels in the Pacific Northwest, an 1800s-era penitentiary where a murder-suicide unfolded (among many other atrocities), to the bizarre and unsettling atmosphere...
