Elizabeth Searle writes fiction and scripts. A new feature film that she co-wrote-- I'll Show You Mine, from Duplass Brothers Productions-- was released in June in select theaters in LA, NYC and more and widely on home screens via VOD, including AmazonPrime, AppleTV, Vudu, OnDemand and more. It was well-reviewed in the NYTimes and more. It was co-written by Elizabeth, David Shields and Tiffany Louquet; directed by Megan Griffiths; starring Poorna Jagannathan and Casey Thomas Brown. Also Elizabeth wrote 5 published books of fiction, most recently We Got Him. Her theater works have been produced in NYC, Boston, LA and more. Tonya & Nancy: the Rock Opera (script by Elizabeth; music by Michael Teoli) has drawn major media. Both her rock opera and I'll Show You Mine have drawn national media. She's written for 2 short films screened at festivals- Celebrities in Disgrace (premiered at Woods Hole International Film Festival) and FourSided- which has screened in over a dozen festivals including several in 2023 and won multiple awards. Elizabeth wrote a script adaptation of her first novel, A FourSided Bed, in development as a feature with producer David Ball and Amy Carpenter Scott/Creatrix Films. The novel A Four-Sided Bed was a Finalist for an ALA award and was on the Boston Globe Paperback Bestseller list. Elizabeth's feature film script for A Four-Sided Bed has been recognized by over 20 competitions and festivals, including winning Best Screenplay at the Massachusetts Independent Film Festival and being named a Quarterfinalist in the Academy Nicholl fellowships; it was recently a selection at two 2023 festivals. Elizabeth's latest script Lock Her Up won Best Suspense/Thriller Script in the Los Angeles Film and Script Awards, 2023 and has been a finalist in multiple competitions. Elizabeth teaches fiction, pop fiction and script-writing at Stonecoast MFA. She is a member of Women in Film & Video-New England and she lives near Boston, MA with her family.
