Brynn Cartelli won season 14 of “The Voice” on Tuesday by edging out Britton Buchanan in one of the closest votes in the history of the reality competition series. Buchanan, who was coached by one-time winning coach Alicia Keys, had been strongly positioned heading into Tuesday’s finale based on his performances on Monday’s final.

Two of the three songs that Buchanan performed on May 21 made the iTunes top 10, thus qualifying for the vote multiplier. He grabbed the top spot with his original single “Where You Come From.” And his cover of the Young Rascals classic “Good Lovin” took the 10th and final slot. (His duet with Keys on “Wake Me Up” by Avicii ranked 19th).

Brynn Cartelli defied the odds and won season 14 of “The Voice” on Tuesday over frontrunner Britton Buchanan as well as Kyla Jade and Spensha Baker. With the elimination of Pryor Baird, Jackie Foster, Rayshun Lamarr and Kaleb Lee on Tuesday’s episode of “The Voice,” only four artists remain in contention to win season 14. Of the four coaches, only Blake Shelton has two acts in the final: Spensha Baker and Kyla Jade. Kelly Clarkson and Alicia Keys have one apiece with Brynn Cartelli and Britton Buchanan respectively. The fourth coach, Adam Levine, is without an act in the two-part final that kicks off on May 21.

On the May 15 live results show of “The Voice,” three men had to fight it out to join three women in the final next week. Each of these three artists had to sing one more song in the hopes of winning the Instant Save when viewers cast votes via Twitter. Buchanan won the audience over and our readers were equally enamored. In our poll, 57% of them opted for Buchanan while 35% preferred Baird and Lee got just 8% of the total vote.

Tuesday night on “The Voice,” rock singer Britton Buchanan from Team Alicia Keys narrowly escaped elimination after being forced to sing for America’s instant save along with Pryor Baird and Kaleb Lee. Britton picked Calum Scott‘s “Dancing on My Own” as his instant save song — a great choice as it earned enough live votes to send him through to the season finale, thereby eliminating both Pryor and Kaleb. Britton now joins Brynn Cartelli (Team Kelly Clarkson), and Kyla Jade and Spensha Baker (Team Blake Shelton) as the Final 4 artists on “The Voice” Season 14. Six of the eight artists still in the running on “The Voice” saw their performance on Monday’s show make the top 10 on iTunes as of noon on Tuesday. That means each will get the benefit of the vote multiplier. That should help them avoid being in the bottom two, who will be eliminated right away when Carson Daly reveals the results on the May 15 episode.

That dubious distinction is likely to go to Jackie Foster and Rayshun Lamarr. Neither of these artists saw their tracks do well in the overnight sales figures from iTunes. Lamarr, who has had to sing for survival for two of the past three weeks, only sold enough of his version of John Lennon‘s classic “Imagine” to make it to #36. Foster foundered with her cover of Whitesnake‘s “Here I Go Again,” moving only enough units to get to #48.

Besides buying the tracks of your personal picks, you can also vote via Apple Music by streaming the eligible songs. This voting window will end on May 15 at 12 p.m. in your respective time zone. There is a limit of 10 streams per song per Apple ID.

You also can cast up to 10 votes per artist in one of three ways: on the official App, which is available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play; on the official website page of “The Voice” and the official Facebook page.
