It's hard to pinpoint exactly what has brought Lady Bunny the most fame.
The legendary drag queen, who created the non-defunct annual New York City drag festival Wigstock in the mid-80s, has been performing, DJing, releasing music and appearing in films and on TV shows like "RuPaul's Drag Race" and "RuPaul's Drag U" for nearly three decades.
Known for hilarious -- and filthy -- parody covers of tracks by pop stars like Katy Perry, Bunny released an uncharacteristically straight forward dance single, "Take Me Up High" (see the video above) in July and the track has already climbed to number 29 on the Billboard Dance Chart.
We caught up with Bunny to chat about her new song, her connection to the transgender community, how her life changed after 9/11 and more.

This just in from The X Factor: Sponsored by Verizon Wireless: Stevie Wonder is calling Chris Rene! Hollywood is calling Rachel Crow! And wait, Steve Jones’ internal motherboard is transmitting some vaguely worded text message about an “error in communication” regarding this week’s Pepsi viewers’ choice performances. (Next week, by the bye, Steve will be replaced by an AOL Instant Messenger box and a series of cutting-edge emoticons.)
What’s that? You’re not buying Steve’s explanation for the last-minute theme switch? You think Simon Cowell simply wanted to whip up some dramatic backstage footage and test...

Watch and critique How I Met Your Mothers's gay jokes, Dolph Lundgren's still scary, what is Ana Wintour wearing, and what is J.J. Abrams up to?
The New York Post has a somewhat schizophrenic report from the premiere of James Franco’s Saturday Night. The report says a reporter asked something about James’ sexuality, and his publicist freaked out, but later James was joking about it with Will Forte, who he made out with on Saturday Night Live. I’m prone to thinking James could care less what people think about him.
AfterElton.com reader Jc tips us to a new song by The Temptations called “Change Has Come” that opens with an inclusive message on race, creed, and sexual orientation. Considering their market and age, it’s pretty cool, and you can listen here.
