Charlie Hines(I)
- Music Department
- Composer
Charlie Hines was born on December 10th. While he loved sports, it was
a hip injury and hospitalization that led him to pick up the guitar. A
military brat and being one of seven children, being a drummer was
never going to be an option. So guitar it was. Charlie studied music at
Northern Virginia Community College and Howard University, and became a
published songwriter during this time, writing jingles for "Jack &
Jill" and being published by Word/Home Sweet Home Records. After
school, Charlie spent 17 years in the business world of optical
retailing and merchandising. Still keeping one foot in music, he wrote
songs for his company's non-profit side of the business, One Sight.
Upon leaving the business world, Charlie returned to his first love,
music. Charlie accepted a position with the Milford Vineyard Church,
and later accepted a position with Vineyard Cincinnati where he serves
as Weekend Worship Director. Charlie has lived and traveled all over
the United States and Germany. During this time, Charlie developed an
appreciation for diversity and diverse cultures. This finds its way
into his music both live and recorded. Charlie has written and
published songs for Vineyard Music and as a part of the Creative Team
at Vineyard Cincinnati has been able to write requested songs for Rebel
Pilgrim, the motion picture projects, ministry of Vineyard Cincinnati.
