This year’s British Urban Film Festival will host the premiere of Nicole Albarelli’s debut feature.
Nicole Albarelli’s British drama To Dream will have its premiere as the opening film of this year’s British Urban Film Festival (Sept 14-20).
The film stars Ed Hayter and Freddie Thorp as two self-destructive teenagers who find their dysfunctional family life intolerable. They lead the cast alongside former BAFTA rising star Adam Deacon (Anuvahood) and former X-Factor finalist Diana Vickers.
Thorp will next be seen in Antonio Negret’s Overdrive alongside Scott Eastwood.
Baltimore-born Albarelli makes her directorial debut with the feature, which she produces alongside Aaron Wilson for Anomaly CInema. Tom Tornari is executive producer.
Festival director Addie Akinrinade commented: “To Dream is one of those urban, English, drugs, sex, rave, drink, gritty films. It’s well written, very natural and real. Adam Deacon is brilliant as usual, the two leads are fantastic and Diana Vickers does amazingly...

Olly Murs may now be hosting The X Factor but he most certainly isn't dating former contestant Diana Vickers.
Murs and his girlfriend Francesca Thomas split up last month after a three-year relationship, and it was apparently rumoured that he has since hooked up with the 2008 semi-finalist.
"It's so ridiculous. It's a load of rubbish," Murs told The Mirror at the Music Industry Trust Awards.
"Me and Diana are friends, we've known each other a long time. We laughed about it. What? We're casually dating? No, we're not. We find it funny."
Murs competed in The X Factor a year after Vickers, later becoming host of The Xtra Factor and fronting the main show this year.
In the same chat, Murs did admit once asking out Cheryl Fernandez-Versini on a date... and not hearing back from her.
Unsurprisingly, neither of them have brought that up since they reunited on the show.

It always starts the same way. The opening few piano notes of something slow by Coldplay or Labrinth. A contestant swallows hard, then starts talking about their sick mum/child/dog. And suddenly, before Cheryl can even grab a tissue, you're sat on your sofa blubbing like a toddler.
Yes: The X Factor has given us some of the most heartbreaking moments on TV over the years. And from hysterics at Judges' Houses to Simon Cowell's own rare, salty tears, here are 6 moments that shattered us, ruined us and gave us every feeling possible.
1. Gamu Gate
The so-called 'Gamu Gate' has become a central part of X Factor lore. 18-year-old Zimbabwe-born Gamu Nhengu had given flawless performances throughout the whole show, right through to her rendition of 'Cry Me Out' for Cheryl and will.i.am at Judges' Houses. The X Factor might have kicked off Judges' Houses last night in a two-and-a-half hour extravaganza - but there's still some work to be done. While Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini can sit back and relax, there are still two categories yet to be decided.
That's right: Nick Grimshaw still needs to choose his Top 6 Boys, and we'll also see the Girls performing for Rita Ora and Meghan Trainor in an attempt to make it through to the live shows. It's going to get intense, people.
Of course, anything could happen - who knows if Simon will suddenly introduce a wildcard twist (*cough* Jennifer *cough*)? So join us from 7.30pm when the show kicks off and we'll bring you all the action...
20:56For now, though, we'll say good night - do keep leaving your comments and stick with DS for all the X Factor coverage you need. And Obviously...

Maybe it's the pressure. Or the hot stage lights. Or the tantalising proximity of Simon's high-waisted trousers. But it wouldn't be a series of The X Factor without rumours of romances. Already this year we've had the usual nudges and winks wiggling their way out from Boot Camp.
But it's only in the pressure cooker of live shows that things really start heating up - and acts inevitably turn to each other for comfort. So prepare yourself with seven of our favourite ever X Factor romances...
1. Wagner and Mary Byrne (2010)
Is it any surprise that 54-year-old, Brazilian-born Wagner turned out to be something of a ladies' man? No woman can resist a guy with bongos, and his throwback picture of himself holding a lion's tail paved the way for men posing with big cats on dating apps.

The X Factor knows how to create drama. From the blast of 'O Fortuna' as Simon Cowell and his buddies enter the stage, to former voiceover man Peter Dickson hamming it up, they've got the atmosphere nailed.
One of the most exciting elements of the show will always be the big Sunday night eliminations, especially if the dreaded Deadlock comes into play. Most of the time, the judges get it right, but sometimes there are downright shocks. Here are the biggest to date, brought to you in association with TalkTalk's new Bopheads app:
1. Laura White (series 5)
Wigan lass Laura was tipped for X Factor success in 2008's early stages, but found herself in a tough girls group with the public's favourite indie fairy Diana Vickers and future victor Alexandra Burke. Even so, no-one expected her to leave as early as the fifth week, especially with Ricky Gervais lookalike Daniel Evans still knocking around.

It’s grim up north. Or so many British horror films would have you believe. If you’re travelling across the Yorkshire Moors you damn well better not be travelling alone or – heaven forbid – at night, otherwise your loved ones will be identifying your half-digested remains found in the woods outside Northallerton. You’d think people would have learned this lesson by now, but commuting businessman Jake (Rupert Hill) appears to be a slow learner. After a freak road accident he wakes up in the rural home of Morris (an unhinged Tony Curran) and his sheltered daughter Lauren (pop star Diana Vickers) and attempts to leave so that he can attend an ill-defined but ultra-important “business meeting” and, oh yeah, propose to his girlfriend.

The X Factor wrapped up filming on its auditions yesterday, and you know what that means - the show's even closer to being back! And boy, what a treat we're in for if these previous auditions are anything to go by.
The audition stages always throw up some weird and wonderful acts, so we've collected just 13 of the best (and most bonkers) that remind us why we're so excited about The X Factor's return...
1. George Gerasimou (and Dermot telling him off)
Where do we even start? This is one of our favourite auditions ever. It starts off on a positive note as George explains that he has grown up since his awful try-out with Triple Trouble - but then as soon as Gary calls an early stop to the music, George kicks off big time, snarling all the while, and his mate joins him on stage to back him up.

Awaiting is a psychological thriller from director Mark Murphy (The Crypt). Focusing on a reclusive cannibal, the film also involves a terrified victim. Awaiting will premiere at the United Kingdom's Film4 Frightfest Film Festival. And, the film stars Tony Curran (Gladiator), Diana Vickers and Rupert Hill. A trailer for the film was released, recently (hosted below). Now, the film's official poster has been revealed and it can be seen here. The trailer brings more of the story out, to feed on. The clip shows how a lone cannibal ambushes and captures his prey (spike strip). The trailer also shows how the cannibal's daughter grows cold feet, when the new prey is being readied for a feast. Characters collide and allegiances are dissolved in this intriguing film. A review or two for Awaiting have been kind. Roger Crow, of the Huffington Post, mentions some of the bloodier scenes, which are "wince-inducing.

First it was boyband vs girlband week, then it was disco week, but The X Factor finally settled on a theme for this weekend - Michael Jackson vs Queen! Yep, we're not sure whether it was inspired by the two acts' duet 'There Must Be More To Life Than This', but what we do know is that our final nine acts have a hell of a lot of choice when it comes to picking tracks...
One of our favourite X Factor games is predicting which songs the acts will perform, so we've had a little sift through the Mj and Queen back catalogues to try to figure out what they'll be belting out on Saturday night!

Andrea's already tackled Mj's 'Earth Song', so we think he has to go for a Queen classic, really. And what better than 'The Show Must Go On'?...

Those of you who were losing sleep over Chloe Jasmine Whichello's injured foot can rest assured.
We've seen said foot since the accident and, bar painful-looking bruising, both foot and Chloe are looking healthy.
The X Factor finalist, who will be appearing in a shopping documentary on Channel 5 tonight (October 16), was photographed wearing black open-toe socks but no shoes as she arrived for rehearsals at the Fountain Studios in London today.
The 23-year-old model was taken to hospital yesterday after her foot swelled up following an incident earlier this week. An X Factor spokesperson told Digital Spy that she stubbed her foot on a piece of wood.
And now we are able to confirm after much inspection that she has a mild case of foot bruising.
There were also concerns that she might not be able to perform on Saturday night for the second stage of Live Shows, but today...

The X Factor hopeful Chloe Jasmine has been taken to hospital after injuring her foot.
The 24-year-old was forced to seek medical attention after her foot swelled in size following an incident on Monday (October 13).
However, while some reports have suggested that she stood on a piece of glass, an X Factor spokesperson told Digital Spy that she actually stubbed her foot on a piece of wood.
It is not yet clear whether Chloe Jasmine will be able to perform on her feet on Saturday (October 18), when The X Factor hosts '80s Week.
It has already been revealed that she will be singing Blondie's classic track 'Call Me', which was previously covered on The X Factor by Diana Vickers.
Meanwhile, Chloe Jasmine recently received support from Union J's Jaymi Hensley, who said: "She's not from this world. What I love about her is that [on modelling competition The Face] Naomi Campbell told her...

Diana Vickers has said that it is "refreshing" when people don't realise she was on The X Factor.
The singer and actress finished in fourth place in the 2008 series, and has since launched an acting career on stage and screen.
She recalled how a film director had no idea that she found fame on the show, and downplayed any so-called X Factor 'curse' that comes with appearing on the show.
"When I got my recent film audition, I kind of got it and I was like, 'Oh, that's great'," she told Digital Spy and others. "The director met me and said, 'I didn't know that you were on X Factor'.
"It's just so refreshing to hear that and he was like, 'I just thought you did an amazing audition and it wasn't until after you walked out that the casting director said that you were on it'. So it's really refreshing to hear that.

"She's been in this business since she was 16 - she's 21 now so the girl is kind of a showbiz veteran, in a weird way."
Howard also revealed that she was a fan of Vickers on The X Factor, admitting: "As soon as she walked in, I was like "God, its X-Factor! She's got shoes on! She's got shoes on!' - because she always had no shoes."

Six years after finishing fourth in The X Factor, Diana Vickers has released two albums and launched an acting career on stage and screen.
Last year, she was due to make her TV acting debut in the comedy series Give Out Girls on Sky Living, but the series was delayed and later picked up by Comedy Central.
Give Out Girls stars Vickers and Him & Her's Kerry Howard, and was co-written by Tony MacMurray and Hatty Ashdown. It follows a group of four girls who work in promotions and carry out roles like handing out free light bulbs to commuters.
Ahead of the show's premiere on Tuesday (October 14), Digital Spy and others had a quick chat with the singer and actress about her latest project and where it may take her in the future.

Diana Vickers's sitcom Give Out Girls will debut on Comedy Central.
The six-part series was originally ordered by Sky Living in May 2013, but a deal has been reached to transfer the show to Comedy Central, which is a joint venture between Sky and Viacom.
Give Out Girls stars Vickers and Him & Her's Kerry Howard, and was co-written by Tony MacMurray and Hatty Ashdown.
It follows a group of four girls who work in promotions and carry out roles like handing out free lightbulbs to commuters.
Jill Offman, managing director of Comedy Central UK and senior vice president of comedy at Viacom International Media Networks, told Broadcast: "Sky previously heard our brief at a conference for modern, mainstream, outrageous content.
"As we have a history of this with shows such as Threesome, also produced by Big Talk, they thought Give Out Girls would be a good fit for Comedy Central.

Diana Vickers has said that Cheryl Cole found attacks from the press "difficult".
The 22-year-old singer was mentored by Cole when she was a contestant on The X Factor in 2008.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Vickers said of the 30-year-old singer: "I think she gets a lot of press attacking her in a way and it was quite difficult for her sometimes. She would give me good advice of what to say, and [said] don't give too much away."
Vickers also commented on Cole's return to the ITV talent show this year, saying: "Everybody loved her on that show, and she's a bit of a national treasure, isn't she?
"I think coming back is probably the best thing for The X Factor, definitely."
The 'Cinderella' singer also said that her own encounters with fame were occasionally difficult, as she recalled a recent incident.

Diana Vickers has suggested that fans of The X Factor were priced out of tickets for the show's spinoff musical I Can't Sing!, which has been axed after just two months.
The singer, who found fame after auditioning on the ITV talent series and has since appeared in a number of acclaimed stage productions, told Digital Spy that the costly West End tickets made it difficult for viewers to attend.
"I think it's really expensive to go to the theatre and maybe the people that do watch the show don't really have the money. The people they're appealing to can't spend £60, £80 on a ticket to go to the West End. Maybe that's why," she said.

Any news on Sons of Anarchy on 5Usa?
We know it's not what you want to hear, but it's a very definite 'no' on this one. Season six of Sons isn't heading to 5Usa any time soon, which doesn't bode well given that the last run of episodes made their UK debut from February 2013.
Channel 5 hasn't officially dropped the gritty biker series, but with no confirmed return date and a home media release for the sixth season due on September 1, fans of Samcro might be better off waiting for the DVD.

We all know the X Factor is a well-oiled money machine, so it comes as no surprise that the show will release a celebratory Greatest Hits collection to get us buying all of those songs we probably already own.
And it got us thinking: wouldn't it be better value for money to have some songs on the collection that we probably don't already own?
The X Factor has produced some forgotten gems and stellar novelty tracks over the years, so we've listed 10 of the best that didn't make the final tracklist below.

"I've not made the X Factor Greatest Hits Album," Brookstein tweeted. "Thanks for the 1st ever X Factor No1 and the 6 million votes. Just wasn't enough I guess."
2007 X Factor winner Leon Jackson has also failed to make the final tracklist, despite his winner's single 'When You Believe' going to number one.
Leona Lewis's 'Bleeding Love', One Direction's 'What Makes You Beautiful', Olly Murs's 'Troublemaker' and Jls's 'Beat Again' will all feature.

Severe weather, increased heating bills, Christmas carols playing in shops. Let's face it, October is horrible. That's why we're here to give you one less thing to stress about by providing you with tantalising deets about your favourite programme in Tube Talk's Q&A!
This week, we've got news on Misfits, that thing Diana Vickers is in and Fresh Meat (yet again)...
When will Fresh Meat return?
Ah yes, it wouldn't be a proper Tube Talk Q&A without a Fresh Meat series three query from our old chum Kadeem Graham - seriously, Kadeem loves this show like Josie loves booze, like Vod loves parties, like Jp loves "classic bants"....
So, Channel 4 still hasn't confirmed an exact, concrete, honest-to-goodness air date for the new Fresh Meat episodes, but expect real, proper news soon. Like, very soon. Like, 'it might possibly be on next month' soon.

Diana Vickers has spoken about The X Factor and her relationship with Cheryl Cole.
The singer was mentored by Cole when she appeared on the ITV reality show in 2008.
Vickers told Entertainmentwise: "When I see her obviously it's so lovely and it's always really great but we have totally separate lives.
"She's probably off in La with her gorgeous boyfriend and I'm here in London doing my album, doing my acting, so we're just worlds apart."
The singer, who recently released her second album Music to Make Boys Cry, also gave her opinion on Cole's recent tattoo.
"I think it's her body and she can do whatever she wants with it. Just let her do it," she said.
Vickers added she wouldn't get an inking of her own, saying: "I'm not really a tattoo kind of person. I can admire someone else's art but I'm one of those people -...

The hotties of One Direction released their first commercial for their debut fragrance, Our Moment. You really need to check out the video — it’s equal parts sweet and hilarious, just like the 1D guys!
One Direction Releases ‘One Moment’ Fragrance Commercial
The band’s first fragrance commercial is set to the classic tune of “My Favorite Things,” as performed by Diana Vickers. The singers show off some of their favorite scents– like berries, oranges, and flowers — which have all been incorporated into the group’s first fragrance. Each guy gets a close up as he’s breathing in the lovely fragrances.
Of course, it just wouldn’t be One Direction if they didn’t add some of their fun humor into their commercial.
