Dead Man Logan #8 – #9 Writer: Ed Brisson | Artist: Mike Henderson | Colourist: Nolan Woodard | Letters: Cory Petit
There were a number of Wolverine one shots over the summer I was really looking forward too. Each in their own way were good and bad in places, but more on them later. The one consistent over the summer months for Wolverine comics has been Dead Man Logan. What is working in its favour is only being twelve issues we know the end is in the sight and we get to read along and enjoy the fun of getting there. That being said I don’t want Brisson’s time on Wolverine to end. He has certainly come a long way in my eyes since I tore his first Old Man Logan story arc to pieces! Having the story now take place in The Wastelands but being telling a completely fresh story is also a huge bonus.

Uncanny X-Men #11-#15 Writer: Matthew Rosenberg | Artists: Salvador Larocca & John McCrea | Colourists: Rachelle Rosenberg | Letters: Joe Caramagna
I want to start things off this week for looking at how Wolverine is being reincorporated into the X-Men universe via his appearances in the flag ship book Uncanny X-Men. I read the first six issues digitally and I found them to be very consistent. Its biggest strengths are that it gives as much equal page time to each character in a very large cast as possible. There is a great blend between the older established fan favourite characters and the new cult characters with online cult followings. I see it as paying great respect to X-Men stories past and present. Also even after countless X-Men stories since the 60′s the first six issues to this incarnation of Uncanny manages to feel fresh and new and that is its crowning glory. I recommend checking it out,...

Bit of a short one this month, as Wolverine related books aren’t at a premium. I’m still refusing to pay any attention to Wolverine Infinity Watch as a matter of principle. For the future I am planning on dissecting how Wolverine’s return has been handled in the pages of Uncanny X-Men. Currently I am absorbing the required issues digitally and want to put something together in one bundle rather than issue by issue. As the issues have been out a while there will be spoilers as a dissect how his return is shaped and if there are any contradictions/compliments to what has occurred in the pages of The Return of Wolverine.
